Hi all.  I've just bought my first RE (thanks, Vince!) and am glad to know there are other Seattle area riders!  I've got a long break-in period ahead of me and I'm also a brand new rider, so I'm mildly intimidated by the idea of a meet-up.  :)  I am close to Georgetown though so I might make it out if something gets planned!

Tin Tin, thank you for your business! Don't be intimidated by a meeting. As in every group of people you will find a wide variety  of personalities and as well as skill and knowledge levels. People are human!
The one very real concern you should have is that in their desire to fit in, a lot of people do things they shouldn't do. In this context that usually means riding over your head. No matter what you think anyone may think about your riding skill or your ability to keep up, don't sucker yourself into riding out of your comfort level. RIDE AT YOUR OWN PACE! Just make sure you have explicit directions as to where you are going.
Some of the worst crashes I have seen happened to people that ignored this advice. I know most of the people you will be meeting. You could not ask for a better bunch to ride with. These are good, mature adults. Meet them and have some fun. It will be worth the time.

Hi guys, I've been busy.

About a pre ride or plan the the ride get together,
 Saturdays are preferable for me.
Location is un important. If my bike is not ready no biggie, I have a truck.

The majority of Western Washington Bullet Owners reside somewhere around Seattle.
So it seems that meeting up north of Tacoma is most likely.

Anyone "up North"  know of any easy to find places that are medium group size friendly?

No matter where you go, there, you are.

Hi TinTin, Welcome.
No worries here about get togethers or rides.
Pretentious butt heads seem to be drawn to the "X X" Brand of motorcycle.
Enfield owners tend to be a more decent lot.

Sound like George Town generates the most interest.
What places in george town are easy to get to and find for out of towners ?
Seattle area is serious haul for some folks so I reckon early after noon on a Saturday might work.
What say ye all?

Planet Georgetown is closed. I heard something about that a while back and just got back from checking it out and it is locked up. There are 2 other bars in the area but both are bad. I am trying to get hold of th VME to see where they now hold thier meetings.

Another possible meeting spot is Alysian Brewing Co. pub in Tangletown by Greenlake. It is just off of I-5, west of 65th. Or there is another cool spot, the Nickerson St Saloon located on the south side of the Fremont bridge just below Hwy 99.

I've never been to the Nickerson st. Saloon, but I've heard it's a cool spot.  But more importantly, does it have good food?

Jules Mae's in Georgetown has good food and the food at Smarty Pants, Gtown, is pretty decent as well (and if we get lucky and have a sunny day, Smarty Pants has that outside deck on the side).

A Saturday lunch time sounds good.  Hey...we almost have a plan!

Nickerson St.  sounds good to me also. Fremont is easy to get to from 99. It used to be the main drag through Seattle back in the day, and is still a good way to get around if you don't like the freeway

Who's got a Old Farmers Almanac for a weather check of the last half of May ?
Sound like a possible Oly group ride up the Old 99 or a Blitz up the I-5 for people driving cars.
Any volunteers to scout the restaurants?

Any of the places listed are ok by me.  I prefer the Nickerson St. food to the Elysian/Tangletown food, but I'm really ok either way.  I too like the food at Smartypants and Jules Maes in Georgetown, but if Nickerson St. is becoming a consensus, it sounds good to me.
