If the stars align and schedules collide wouldn't it be cool to take a road trip to the dry side for lunch and to say hi to our pals over there ?

That would be a weekend trip for sure!  With "no highway riding" and speeds not excess of 50 mph it would take all day!    ;D.  It would be a good test of "field maintenance" specially with the quality second hand part yous get from the ONLY area shop.

All day for sure. I aint in nor hurry anyway. Dang sure don't want to ride faster than the drum brakes can stop me. ;)

Other than the dreaded bullet connector behind the battery episode and the ignition switch foible, the only troubles I have had with my Iron Barrel to date were caused by me so in the regard I count it as REliable.

Of course I am not counting road side flat repairs in either of those categories.

Anyone planning on going to the International Motocycle Show in Seattle?
http://www.motorcycleshows.com/seattle

I'm going to try to go Sunday.  Gotta see if I can fit it in with all the family and holiday stuff going on.  The RE factory cafe racer/Continental was on display in Long Beach, not sure if RE will make it to Seattle.

I will be getting on the big jet airplane and the bike will not fit in my suitcase. I know I'm not supposed to do this but I want her to have a good home.

You could probably get it shipped down there for $500.00. Or at least to the border. If you've gotten it broken in, it will handle highways. Look at the alternatives. All is not lost!

Is anyone planning to go the IMS show next weekend in Seattle? I was thinking about it, but I see that RE USA isn't on the vendor list :( I was hoping to get a look at the cafe racer.

Ron Greene told me today the Cafe Racer is going to Seattle for the IMS Show. He isn't. He's going on vacation

I'm going to try to go Sunday.  Gotta see what else my family needs to get done this weekend and whether or not I'll be taking them or going solo for the day.

I'm glad to hear that RE is going to be there :)  They weren't last time I made it, I think last year but could have been 2011.

Ok, so plans are set and I'll be going on Sunday.  I hope to get to town sometime between 11 and noon around 10am when the show opens.  I've heard elsewhere on the board that RE should be there with the new cafe racer so I'm excited to see it in the flesh.

If anyone else is going Sunday PM me and I'll get you my cell number.  It would be great to meet up.

Scott

EDIT: I thought the show opened at 11, not 10.  I'll be trying to get there as early as possible.

I don't see RE on the exhibitor list. RE hasn't rolled into Seattle for a number of years. Kevin Mahoney had mentioned the cost of coming to Seattle and the sales it generated did not add up. We may never see RE here again. You could fly to one of the shows RE USA does attend so you could check out the RE cafe up close. Got to have a jones for this jones for that........

Ron Greene the VP at CMW told me the Continental GT Cafe Racer will be in Seattle. I asked him specifically about Seattle.
