Looks like Portland now has a local dealer:

Vespa Portland is planning to carry the RE.  The bike in the picture looks like the one that was on display at Moto Corsa for a few months.  Moto Corsa is the Ducati dealer right around the corner from Vespa.  I think the Ducati shop was considering selling them for a while, guess not any more.

Vespa Portland is a pretty nice scooter shop.  They carry Vespa, Piaggio, and several other makes of scooter.  They have a few vintage bikes on display and get some cool stuff in like the Piaggio MP3, Vectrix electric scooter, etc.  I think they are getting in the new 4 stroke Stellas soon and I've seen a Cozy sidecar on display there a while ago too.

Nice to have a close dealer.  I hope it works out and they continue to carry them.

I stopped by Vespa today and they have 5 UCE bikes in stock already: 4 C5s and a G5.  The manager Justin is really psyched to have them in the shop.  The employees occasionally just go over and give the bikes a big hug :)  He also said he'll probably get a Cozy sidecar in eventually.  They have put them on scooters so they're familiar with the beast.

That is good news, and I don't even live in Oregon.

For any Washingtonians that have yet to ride the spectacular Hwy 101/Oregon coastline-get thee yonder and ride!! You'll never regret the trip. It's been way too long since I made that trip by motorcycle.

When I bought my Ducati I rode it up from San Diego to Portland taking 1/101 the entire way except for a short shot through LA where I was meeting a friend for lunch.  What a trip!  By the fourth and last day the charm was wearing thin on a bike with a seat that didn't fit and the suspension set too soft.  Still, wouldn't trade it for the world.

Just north of Fort Bragg, CA is one of those curvy arrow signs meaning 'curves ahead' with the little sign underneath that says 'Next 22 Miles'.  Nice stretch of road.  Just north of the CA border is the 'Crazy Norwegian's Fish & Chips.  Great crab melts.

If I'm lucky I'll be riding down to San Francisco and back for a family wedding in late August.  Oregon 101 is great but Northern CA is even better.  Anything along the coast is good :)

Scott, I've done the Oregon part many times, and once followed Hwys 101 and 1 as far south as Santa Cruz, Ca. Did that trip in Oct. Beautiful trip. We camped for most of it. Left the Seattle area on Oct 21st. There were few tourists and the leaves were turning golden. I was way younger then. We rode a 1976 Honda CB750K model.

I took the whole family and stopped by Vespa the other day.  My wife likes the teal C5.

My mom printed out these pics but is now having second thoughts about keeping them around since they have her only grand kid and a motorcycle.  I think she can foresee the little guy having as many emergency room trips while growing up as dad did.

I think the teal color is very nice, and is really retro. It looks good.
