9fingers -- those side bags look great.  But if you want high prices order Hepco & Becker like I did.

If you haven't settled on a mounting solution, consider the C-Bow carriers (https://www.motomachines.com/c-bow-royal-enfield-bullet-classic-from-09) with the C-Bow mounts (https://www.motomachines.com/c-bow-plastic-mold-mount) for the bags.  For a rack, consider fabricating an aluminum "U" that bolts into the top four unused fittings of the carriers.  I also bolted the Givi mount for the Givi Monolock top case (http://www.giviusa.com/givi-products/cases/monolock-cases/e300n2-30ltr-matte-black-case-detail) to the rack.  Everything is easily fitted/removed (ith/without bags; with/without rack; with/without top case) as needed for riding conditions except the carriers which fit like they came from the RE factory.

Thanks Bert, I was planning on strapping them to the fender mount bracket, like they were designed to fit. If I don't like that approach I can always modify it. I also bought a rear rack that came from India, semms decent enough for my purpose. And I will strap on a small duffel or leather bag for more luggage space. Doing the Blue Ridge Parkway this summer, from VA to SC and some riding in the Smokey Mountains, a first long trip for me. No more than 200 miles a day at 45mph or less. I also have a vintage looking and very comfortable backpack from LL Bean, so I will have more than enough storage space.

Let me know when you are passing through NC, maybe we can grab a coffee.

So I ordered that head steady from H with a few books, gaskets, seals, etc... They did throw in the longer bolts that I will be needing with washers and nuts, the total was 100 pounds or $128.50. The shipping was 40 pounds, or $51.40! :o

I think if I wanted or needed a new head steady I'd go to a local small business machine shop and have it made.

I will try to do that Brad, as long as the guy I am going with is agreeable.

That's a nice looking unit there heloego :) It's a shame though that the GPS unit has to sit where it does. Would it work inside the casquette?

And what did I do today? Finally, with temps in double digits, me and the neighbour finally got out for a couple hours for bite to eat and a coffee.

And as it's close enough at 14760, it's time for the 15000 mile service.

Wait, that's the GPS antenna above the headlight?  :(  I always thought those GPS speedos had internal antennae...

Just lowered the idle, and also took off the rear seat on my new 500 Classic.

The unit above the headlight is the GPS antenna.

The speedo has all electronics inside the speedo housing with a  8-pin power connector/harness and antenna/cable externally.
The antenna is typical of any small GPS antenna. If indoors or blocked by anything its performance suffers dramatically.
In the garage it just keeps looking for a signal until I hut off power, so putting it inside the casquette would be a useless excersize.
I put it above the head lamp because I didn't want to drill the mudguard.
The pic is the install on my Electra, but the C5 gets one next.

Thank you, have had the "cwmoss" nickname a very long time, since the movie, if you know which one.

Fork oil change as part of the 15000 mile service. Left fork was tighter than the right for whatever reason.

Rightly or wrongly I've gone for 180ml 10W.

That is what I used when I changed the oil on my 2011 B5 and it seems to work well.   :)

Installed a rear rack/carrier on my new bike today. From India to Texas in about 5 days.

I have found that parts from India get here faster than ordering from UK supplier, Also first class tracking from day one.
Also quality of parts from India has been very good, plus price 50% cheaper than uk.
