I gave her a good cleaning today. The rains of the last two weeks left both of us feeling waterlogged. She is feeling much better now.

Had a good ride day.  My everyday bike, Suzuki Boulevard, is in the repair shop getting some crash damage fixed.  So, I have found the time to ride the vintage Bullet.  Went solo on a 100 mile ride. Weather was decent for August here on the upper Texas Gulf Coast.  Bike is performing well.  Top speed was 62 and mostly crusing at 55.

I built the tank cap with stainless steel.
The original cap did not have a good seal with this new plug bayonet coupling nut is tightened by turning the screw.
The estate is perfect, the air vent hole is formed inside of the screw.

LOVE IT!   That is really fine.

That tank cap is very cool!

As for me, it has been hot here so I've been commuting on one of my other bikes.  Tonight though I decided to take my Royal Enfield down to the 'bike night' at the local Cycle Gear and uh, no, not my crowd at all, just went on by and had a nice little ride.

Well, with vacation, long days at work, rain that seems to show up everyday and a flat tire that I don't have time to fix, the Blackhawk has just been sitting for the last month.    :-\   Sad, I know, but sometimes life happens.  But the other day my wife and I were taking the dog for a walk.  Just as the car port for the Blackhawk comes into view, I see an unsupervised Hispanic kid just climb right up on my bike like he owns it!!!!!    >:(    "GET OFF MY FUCKING BIKE!!!"  The kid got so scared he damn near fell off trying to get back off.  "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"  "What the fuck dude?!  You just go around playing on other peoples' private property?!  That's fucked up dude."  "I'm sorry!  I'm sorry!"  "Where's your parents?"  After I said that him and his little brother (I assume) started hiding behind cars in the parking lot, keeping my eye on them whole time.  As soon as I got far enough away I saw them bolt out of the corner of my eye and disappeared.

Kids these have no freaking respect for personal property or even people in general.  Drives me nuts!    >:(

I would have told him the fee for sitting on the bike was a thorough hand wash, or any other chores you might have come up with...  :D

I installed a new tail light assembly and moved the rear turn signals.  Also cleaned it up a bit for the little RE get together we have planned for tomorrow...

Went for a 100 mile ride with some mates, half highway half backroads, she did well to keep up even with a 60mph headwind. Mainly crusing 60mph, backroads 40-55. And a buttload of rain and winds :s
Kept the engine cool at least!
