Not sure if it is all in my head, but Tonks seems to be running vastly smoother with the new chain and rear sprocket. Spins along at 60-65 now rather smoothly, and no drama when I spooled right up to 70 on a straight stretch of empty two lane. Real or imagined, I'll take it!

Probably not imagined.  Evenly mildly worn chains and sprockets make a lot of mechanical noise and vibration, same for a chain that is too slack or too tight.  I'd also bet your new chain is higher quality and smoother.

It's one of those things like shocks or tires.  It wears and gets worse over time but since it happens gradually you don't notice the degradation, until you replace them

Took Lizzy out for a hours spin in the half wet half beautiful sunshine!
Risked the rain as she's been sitting all week due to pouring rain, and no where undercover to put her at work these days..

Ran good, forgot the lovely noise she makes, a few things might be ratteling, and I need to get some bush type deals on my tank mounts, I think that'll stop ALOT of noise and vibration, plus be kinder on the metal.

Broke 10,000 mi today on my 2011 B5 . Except for the first 300 to 750 mi they have been mostly trouble free , just regular maintenance. Engine was pretty noisy but around 5500 to 6000 miles engine quieted down. I wrapped the exhaust this also helped with noise. Also attached picture of present confirmation of my bike.

Unfortunately I couldn't do anything with my G5 today, it is locked away in a storage bay (with Stabil in its tank) in Venice Florida. I, Wife, & Jack the wonder dog, are staying in a tourist efficiency room, living out of suitcases, while hunting for a home in the Venice - North port Florida area. It is a big adventure I'm looking forward to ending. Lots of bikes here but none I find interesting.

Did my 1st oil change for the 3750 mile service @ 3616. Only slight amount of oil on garage floor to soak into concrete. Of course it will miss any newspaper you had put down previously  Now my ribs have healed I'm getting some much needed bike time.

1550ml ish out, I has already put 1700ml in to halfway of the marks. Now shows well over the top, the same as before. Thought I would have had more out. I did tilt the bike, perhaps not far enough though.

Went for a run, and what do you know, the speedo says have some of this and decides not to play ball. Great. Now to decide, back to original or maybe a white face? Hitchcocks have a couple of nice ones, shame the Smiths doesn't have places for the idiot lights. I wonder if you could hook up small LEDs instead and have 4 small holes in the nacelle. Thoughts anyone?

I had a great time with my RE yesterday!  The monsoons have cooled the temps down a bit and that allowed me to grab some ride time.  Rode over to my favorite cigar bar where they allow me to park the bike on the sidewalk in front of the store.  It was the talk of the evening from both the fellow libatious participants and passersby.  Follow that with a cool evening ride home: mark down another great outing with the old iron barrel

As detailed in another thread, I both lost and found my EFI silencer early this morning, and spent the better part of the day hunting for parts before reassembling the whole mess.

Everything's all well and good with a little blue loctite for added security, but my exhaust note sounds a little harsh, so I'm wondering what damage I did to the silencer...

put the nfield gear suction cup tank rack on my bike
It's a little disappointing 
rack doesn't match the contour of the tank very well. Pushing down on the upper left corner makes the lower left corner pop off 
Item is about $40 overpriced given the quality

my old tank rack popped and flipped while i was riding. same problem -lifted suction caps. i was very lucky not to damage the tank.
i think it is more of a looker than a practical  daily use item

I heard that the original Triumph Parcel Tank Rack was discontinued as a safety precaution, following complaints after incidents with "orrible" results.
