Just stared at it for a long while and thought, that's a nice looking bike.  8)

Will take it out later for a ride around the south head of Sydney Harbour.

Took the Blackhawk to run some errands this evening.  So far it seems that all of my previous problems have been rectified.  No more electrical issues other than needing to replace the dip switch.  But the electrical system seems to be working great, the motor is running stronger than ever and the clutch is working perfect!  Just need to get that duckbill on there(courtesy of Ducati Scotty :) ) and I should be good to go.  Speaking of duckbills, is it best to just hook it straight up to the crank breather or hook it up to the hose already running out the back?

And in other news today, I traded a detail/touch up/buff job in exchange to have Windows reinstalled on my laptop and get it running again.  It's so nice to have it back.  Best part is that his car came out so good he gave me a $100 tip on top.  :)

I would hook it to a hose running to the back. I had a duckbill but I never attached it to the hose because I never got any oil up there anyway. However your mileage may vary.

Hope everyone's Easter was a good one!
Finished setting up my Go-to-Work package for my C5.
Pelican knock-off, Tote Tray, personal laptop w/accessories.
Company won't allow me to carry the company PC on the bike, so I set up a cheapie from Best Buy with all the progs I need for work. Now they can't bitch.
Took her for a spin this morning and am GOOD TO GO!!!! Should get a lot of good miles on her this summer!  ;D

Right now I'm using a couple of bungis to attach to my home made rack, but I'm thinking on a quick release system so I can lose the bunjis but keep it secure.

Would love to see what you come up with eventually. I went and got a small clear waterproof case from Wally World for some extra tools, reg., etc. to put on the rear rack I have. It had built-in 1" strap slots so I could run a cam strap around it and the rack to secure it. I put some adhesive-backed minicell foam on the bottom of the case to keep the vibes from rattling things around too much and help it stay put. But I would love to figure out a bigger case and quick release option that is more handy than wing nuts.

I was falling asleep on my lunch break so I decided to enjoy the 80°F weather and went for a ride.  The bike is running great!  Revs plenty hard with ease.  And I just found out how much faster it is when I wind it up tight.  I need to get out to the drag strip to see what I can do in a quarter mile.  Also I think I might get the Blackhawk on the dyno in the next couple of weeks, so that will be sweet.   :)

Im sure whatever you come up with will kick ass, you've done a fantastic job so far with your rack. If I ever manage to get a tig welder that's going to be my first project with it...lol

got an idea for a quick release system...you know those big, blue handled clamps you see at home-depot? normally on the same aisle as your hammers, bastard files, hacksaws, ect.  something like that maybe. trim up the handles so they aren't as bulky, little paint, and a way to mount it, might just do the trick.

I'm thinking along the lines of mounting a .040" aluminum plate internal to my rack and attach the case to it using Dzus Fasteners and receptacles. I can't weld worth a damn, so the plate could be attached with steel Adell clamps.

For mounting the case to the plate, something like these, which I can get free from work:

Or maybe some sort of slide-in arrangement with a locking feature... ::) hmmm...

Got a smaller lighter batterie yesterday, installed and seems to turn starter just fine. Still need to replace headlight as mine vibrated to pieces. Decided not to wait for replacement as day was just beautifull. Drove the cage home at lunch, picked up "Alison" and carved the backroads back to work.

Success!  The charging system rewire seems to have worked. I put the 55/60W headlight back in and at moderate cruising RPM I get about 13.5V at the battery.  I may still get an aftermarket regulator/rectifier.
