Yeah, but the next time the cover comes off EVERYTHING is getting replaced, and I have other projects I want to invest money into now.   ;D

It lives!  Got the new solenoid in and it fired right up.  I took it for a spin and it's running just fine.

We went on a spirited ride yesterday - BAT - Bikers against Tolls. About 150 bikes, mostly sports and super bikes with us the only RE and probably 1 of the 3 smallest machines on the ride. The front rider cruised at a 100 km per hour - we had our hands full keeping up but managed well and as usual the bike got a lot of attention.

Musical or Dramatic adaptation?

Dramatic play...  Touring version of the show that Spielberg saw in London and adapted to the screen.  The book came first, then the play, then the cinema.

Cool!
Checked the dates and I'll be off during the second half of the tour here.
Just might have to pick up a couple tickets.  :D

In other news...
Temps were great, honey-dew's were done, so I eased her out of the garage and enjoyed a beautiful day for about 30 miles.

I finally got off my butt and lubed my throttle cables.

A year or so ago I decided to do this so I took the two screws out of the grip housing on the handlebars and checked out the possibility of getting the cables loose.
As some of you know, the cables can't be taken out that way, so,I said to hell with it.

This time I tried loosening the cable nuts down by the throttle body.
Without taking off the fuel tank and removing the tie straps, the cables didn't want to come off that way either.  That's when I had a "hmm" moment.

I loosened the two screws on the handlebar housing and moved the top out of the way.  That gave me a visual access to the places where the inner cable goes into the outer sheath.  It was too far down in there to be able to pour oil into them but I recalled my wife has some hypodermic syringes she used when she bred cats.
Getting one of these and filling it with light weight oil I could place the end of the needle down between the cable and the sheath and very slowly inject the oil.
After injecting the oil and letting it run down thru the cables I put things back together, wiped off the dripped oil and was done.

The throttle action seems to be much smoother now so I'm a happy biker. :)

Nothing, I've been busy the last 2 days trying to fix my car from Mondays mishap.  We got a few inches of snow on Monday and apparently there was a sheet of ice under it around the apartment complex.  Not even thinking anything of it, I pulled into the complex as usual.  Turning onto the little s curve I hit the ice and it slung shot my car 180* into the curb.  I really F'd up the right rear area, bent both track bars, the sway bar and the knuckle!  I told my co-workers I should win an award for the most damage done under 10mph.  LOL  Aside from not getting paid because I wasn't on the clock today, all is not lost.  Because I work for a Subaru shop and we have a dozen parts cars out back (no pun intended...... or was there  ;) ) I was able to get all the parts I needed off of other cars.  Best part is, it gave me a reason to put the lifted suspension on my car that I've been wanting to do and now has a fresh alignment (MY 1st alignment on the new rack  :) ).  Now I just need to get some meaty tires for the 16" wheels, body and paint and drop in the 2.5 hybrid high/er compression motor and I'll be ready for some super hard core back country camping.  :D

Took her to work this afternoon. Nice getting there, but it really cooled down on the way back. Happy for thermals and good gloves!  :)

I swapped the Battery Tender from the R69s back to the Enfield yesterday. It's like 5 degrees here in Michigan, so that's about as cold as I wanted to get. I do want to drain and refill the C5 forks, and see what that front end rattle is, but that may be a few weeks away.
I also got the fork seals in for the wifes CL175, so I may tackle that first, since the engine is currently out of it. You folks in warmer climates have no idea how depressing it is to go out into the shop and see 5 bikes sitting idle!

Just got my 6ga. ultra flexible battery wire fromMcMaster Carr.  Ten feet cost about $25 delivered.  Really nice stuff.  Fine strand conductor and very supple rubber casing.

I smoked a cigar for Silver's 15th birthday.

I also took the insurance off of the 09 since I sold it a few months ago.

Sweet!  Sounds nice, hopefully no more broken terminals.  :)

What did you puff on for the celebration?  I'm a HUGE fan of everything Drew Estate has to offer.  :D

Parked my SYM Symba in the garage space and moved my Enfield out to the street -- this will be an Enfield week.

Attached the 4 straps to the bike to hold my new Kriega US-20 pack (on the rear seat). I was too lazy to take the seat off, so I attached them to the fender flanges.

Bike started right up after not starting it for a month!
