Crossed 13,000 miles on the way to work this morning.  Cold but clear, great day for a ride.

Removed the throttle body out of the bike and cleaned it thoroughly with petrol. Now will have to check if there is any improvement in the throttle response as a result of this exercise. Cheers!

Brought it back home from the shop. It had been there for about a month waiting for parts.

Bar end mirrors 33 bucks each from Modak British motorcycle parts in Melbourne . And the NGk plug and cap. Exhaust seal replacement still to do.
Both the bikes looks and my visability are much improved.

Winter storage?  What is this thing you call "Winter storage"?   :)

What would Wesley Pegden think of that?

Cheers,

Rocinante now has over 2400 miles - three and a half months since being adopted from the dealer.

When she had over 1600 miles on her, she was allowed on the freeway. Not being used to such speeds, 65 plus a little more was max, and vibration was maximized.

Today, Rocinante out did herself - 78 mph indicated. Oh my! Oh joy! Oh sweet! Vibration was minimal. Though the throttle was maxed - she just gallopped along, seeming without effort.

Every day , love for her grows.

Looked out the hotel room window at yet another sunny day without my Fiona...  I won't get home to ride Her 'til around Christmas Eve, and I don't think a ride will be in the cards then. Home for three weeks and then I'm off again 'til late June/early July next year.

I miss my bike.  :-[

Made my first sortie in 39 days, courtesy of a stubborn bullet.
Oops, familiar roads when not ridden for some time are the most dangerous in the whole wide world.
So I lowsided, rather hefty, courtesy of a motorist unfamiliar with small roads, forcing me to the far side, decorated with a generous layer of fat slick mud.
The mud was not so bad: only the crash bar took a severe beating and will have to be replaced.
The man was helpful in lifting the bike. He was desperate: a major detour brought him into this spot, and he had no clue where he was and how to continue. So I could help him out with directions. I was also grateful for him to stop timely. I should not have slid a foot further.
All in all an interesting re-entry.
And the repair, that enabled it, did hold. Makes me happy.  :)

I've been staring at The Blackhawk for the last few weeks trying to find time to tear it apart and replace the head gaskets again.  Just been so busy with work and my side work that I haven't had time for my bikes.  In fact the Chief is still sitting in the crate.   :(

Damn you life!  What happened to "ME" time?!      >:(
