Just installed a K&N filter. About to take her out and see how she performs, although I have the nagging feeling I didn't quite do it right. I don't know. Maybe I'm just nervous cos it's the first time I've wrenched on a bike.

It's an air cleaner, not rocket surgery.  Ride more, worry less ;)

Rode the Bullet to a downtown appt.  Took advantage of the HOV lane inbound.  Nice and easy.  Hot weather for sure.  Then, went to wife's elementary school to help her get the classroom ready for her first grade class on Monday.  We left together at the end of the day with her following me in the car so we can take the freeway to downtown again.  Get up to 100kph max with her behind me to take the pressure off any wannabe tailgaters. Then, we get to the HOV lane outbound and I wave to see her at home.  Still hot weather but I sure enjoy riding the Bullet.  Time for an oil change tomorrow.  First since I bought it in May.

Just coming into spring in Australia.  Perfect weekend for riding.  Still air and around 21*C(70 F).  Air filled with the scent of flower blossoms.  Brand new Lewis Leathers Jacket, Royal Enfield rumbling and vibrating, happy at 90 kph, flirting briefly with 105, blue skies, twisty back roads, God is in His heaven.

Sorry to hear that Wildbill.  5 degrees is mighty cold.  I am located at Nowra, coastal, 2hrs south of Sydney.  If I ever venture over the Great Divide and make it to Orange I will look you up.  By the way,  I have an EFI muffler fitted with the same perforated plate positioned in the pipe beyond the baffle.  You were threatening to take a drill to the plate.  If your pioneering spirit leads on to a satisfying outcome I would be very interested to hear about it.

The carb kept flooding out on me so I pulled the bowl and made a float adjustment.  And made another.  And another.  And ten more.  Finally got it just right.   :)  Then took the Blackhawk out to run a few errands.  Damn does it run good.  ;)

This morning, I rode my 2013 RE Military to the local Lowe's home repair store to pick up some plumbing supplies.  While parked, I had two different middle-aged gentlemen approach me wanting to know details about the bike and admiring the vintage 'look'.

When I returned home, I decided to adjust my new-ish windshield in order to do a better job of directing the air stream over my head rather than at my chin... I'll test it tomorrow.

Drained the oil and cleaned the cartridge filter. Put new oil in and did a wipe down on the engine and under carriage.  Noticed the throttle cable was in a bind under the gas tank.  Now it rolls on much easier.

Catbird, I'd love some details - what screen you've got, and how you've mounted it.  I have terrible wind-noise trouble with mine and I really wanna solve it...

Made a clutch adjustment today.  It's better now but still slipping a little bit.  I think I'm just going to order the "improved" clutch kit from Hitchcocks with new springs and all new plates.

I also have a funny story.   :)

I stopped by the Advance Auto Parts I used to work at in town here to visit/harass my old co-workers.  I pulled into the lot cranking in 1st gear, back into a parking stall right by the front doors all casually, and then start revving the hell out of my motor!  As I back off throttle at 6000 RPMs or so the Blackhawk lets out this shot gun blast of a cackle out of the cocktail shakers!!!  The warehouse delivery guy was parked right next to me pulling parts out of his trunk and damn near hit his head on the trunk lid it scared him so bad.    ;D  He looks over at me after I shut it down and says "Holy shit that is one mean ass bike!  Wooooo Lordy!"  LMAO  :D

Got back from a 400 mile weekend ride to the Duluth bringing the total miles up past 1800.  On my way out of town on Friday I think I saw a red/chrome Enfield going the other way on 169/MN47 in Anoka could that be any one here?
