Took of the musette bags, getting ready to install the retro turn signals.

Got my Thorspark electronic ignition conversion kit installed yesterday before work!  WooHoo!  Took it around the block and it was running pretty good.  Last night when I got home my rubber kit for the foot pegs, shifter and kicker were in the mail from Enfield County.  The rubber was a lot harder than I expected it to be, but my propane shop heater and a dead blow manipulated their way on for a secure fit.  Now I think I'm going to take the bike out and do my first ACTUAL test ride.  Wish me luck!

finally had a dry day above 40 F here in Minnecrapolis.

I rode the crap out of my B5.  burnt all of that aged gasoline & stabil that had been sitting in its tank for the last 7 months....

It sure is!

Some people never really get to appreciate what makes America great because they never leave.

It is so awesome to be Home.

Had a half fail with my test ride.  Everything seemed ok then I lost all power.  I think my mechanical advance may have gotten stuck in full advance.  And I was talking to a couple of people and I think my timing is too far advanced.  I'm running to Harbor Freight after work tomorrow to pick up a timing light with an advance dial.  On sale for $30.  SCORE!  I should have it all straightened and ready for a real ride tomorrow evening.

If the advance mechanism failed it should still run OK. If it failed it would just stick at full advance. You wouldn't want to putt around at low RPM that way though, It could hole the piston. On the other hand if it stuck in a retarded position, it would feel a bit weak and do a bit of popping, but it should still run.
Did it quit on you?

My local dealer has been very good to me lately.

Today I dropped off B5 for rear tire changeout and picked it up 3 hours later with the tank replaced !

( I guess even Marty was embarrassed of the crappy pin-striping on it )

My 2011 G5 passed 10,000 miles today on the way home from the car show.  :D

It was just purring along at about 50 mph and didn't seem to notice so it didn't alert me so I didn't know until about a mile later when I glanced at the speedometer.

Congratulations! I'm at 8600, so I need 20 more trips to work and back to hit 10K.
