Kinda curious they didn't put a fly screen on the new Cafe.

Dunno, but mine will get one. Ron Greene says there is an aftermarket one in the works now. If RE doesn't come up with one, I'll find one that works

Checked the bikes vitals, gassed it up and just about out the door on a 5 day exploration of Death Valley and Beatty, Nevada. Life is good !

Put the battery back in and then went for a ride. If it doesn't snow tomorrow I'll go for another spin. The roads are kind of sketchy right now. Lots of gravel, so you have to be careful on the corners. And the potholes this year are ridiculous.

I finally got it washed and waxed today, I've had a busy couple of weeks with a new seat, new signals, new taillight and bobbed the fender. I think it still needs another 2" off of it, then I'm going to work on the front fender. Then tires... The jobs are never done. Haha

On a side note, I got a quote for my motorcycle insurance and it's only going to be $126 a year for full coverage.  I was pretty stoked about that.
Yep Scottie, most the time these bikes are a cheap date compared to others.

+1
When I sold my last GoldWing and bought Fiona, my insurance bill was cut in half.

Yesterday: Looked at it while I moved other stuff around to get tools for other things around the house that needed attention instead of riding.  Then closed the garage and went inside to eat fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, drink beer, and start watching the second season DVDs of Cafe Racer TV.

I've seen that screen before but not those bar mount clamps.  Did you fab them yourself?  If not, where did youget them?

Thats a national cycle flyscreen. Easily available off ebay or your favorite bike store. I added about another 2 inches of plastic at the bottom. The clamps are also from ebay. Search for 7/8 inch handlebar clamps. Since the fireball upgrade cruising at speed was becoming a workout. I could have used a proper windshield but I did not find one that I would like. So did the second best thing and modified one to suit my needs. I also lowered the solo seat with shorter springs and changed riding posture with the adjustable clubmans. I am 5'9" and with this combination it is much more comfortable than before. I think the the flow just about clears my head since it is no more noisy than before in the 3/4 helmet I wear.

Rode out into the cold. Catched up with sun and returned without the lining fleece. Needed 23 minutes to free myself from loose dirt with the aid of a friendly reclining tree. Got hit by a dove, his loss not mine. Witnessed a pheasant's death dance at the side of the road, it got hit by a car. Nothing I could do, sad sight. Just a normal day.

I wiped it with a wet soapy towel, rinsed it and waxed it  :o.

I must say it looks as nice clean as it does dirty.

That and now they can't say it's never happened.
No matter where you go, there, you are.

Adjusted chain. Lubed chain. Scrubbed off the surface rust from storage. Air in tires after storage.

Front was 2psi rear was 15 psi after sitting for 7 months. Yikes!

Filled up the tank. Fuelly report 70.7 mpg on the last tank.

Took the wife on a 40 mile trip around Virginia Beach and got coffee.

Changed oil with Mobil 20-50 when we got home.

Good day.

It sure is!

Some people never really get to appreciate what makes America great because they never leave.

It is so awesome to be Home.
