gave the bike a quick burst to a gps indicated reading of 123 kph then backed off to a 100kph cruise. about 3 klm up along a straight stretch of road one of the local highway patrol car complete with flashing lights and the mobile radar unit  was booking a car.
a much slower trip back home with eyes peeled towards the rear view mirrors ;)

God knows I know that feeling!    :o    Nothing gets the heart beating like a good dose of high speed fun immediately followed by cherries and berries that weren't intended for you.    ;)

What are the odds? Had similar experience yesterday: suddenly I notice flashberries in the rear: it's a motorcycle cop; then I see up front a cager stopped by a patrol car, the mc is in to share the experience. Heheh, I'm off, I'm good.
It's the Scarlet Pimpernel, you know.  ;D

Got a rental car on my day off yesterday, drove the four hours home and visited Fiona at the repair shop.  Paid her deductable, received a nice fat buy-out check for her new tank, exhaust system, and battery box cover (when she was on her side last August, acid leaked out of the battery, and since she's been sitting for months on end waiting for parts, the corrision sat in while she was still in the shop).  I was informed that the new tank from Hitchcock's was delivered this afternoon, and will be installed this week, along with the new Motobatt AGM cell I dropped off (no more spilled acid, thank you very much).

I hear you Jack!  I have my Thorspark electronic ignition  ordered and I can't wait for it to get here!  It's the final part in my restoration and has been loooonnnng anticipated.   :D

On a side note, I got a quote for my motorcycle insurance and it's only going to be $126 a year for full coverage.  I was pretty stoked about that.

Yep Scottie, most the time these bikes are a cheap date compared to others.

The sky was clear, so, I donned the leather and took a quick ride to visit my friendly dealer.  Got an up-close peak at a 2013 B5 as she was being loaded up by her new owner.

The silver paint & new badges look really nice.

Checked the bikes vitals, gassed it up and just about out the door on a 5 day exploration of Death Valley and Beatty, Nevada. Life is good !

I would've loved to have taken some stuff off it, but I don't think they were going to let me do it. I wanted the fly screen, the EFI muffler was bent, the seat was ripped, although I wasn't concerned with that myself as it had a date to go into the upholstery shop for a new cover anyway. I wouldn't have minded getting the rearsets off it, too.
This is why I'm stuck waiting for the new Continental. It comes with all that stuff except the flyscreen!

Kinda curious they didn't put a fly screen on the new Cafe.
