Well, I'm most curious about how you manage with it...

Well, I'm most curious about how you manage with it...

I'm liking what you did, plan on replicating it .....

I'm not sure how to stack the old-fashioned pillion seat on it.  I'm thinking it may involve welding some flat stock across the seat-frame.  But first, I'll need to measure the height to make sure my passenger can still reach her pegs.

Today I rode up to the CYCLE GEAR store to buy a new inner tube to go with the tire I ordered for my G5.

They only had one tube in the right size and seemed to think it was worth $16 so I bought it.
The tube is sold under the name "DOUBLE TOUGH" but I have absolutely no idea of who made it or where.  The only thing marked on it is a number and a ink stamped size.
No country of origin, material or anything else.

Out of curiosity I measured the tubes thickness.  It turns out to have .054 (1.365mm)  thick walls.   :(

When I bought my G5, they gave me a new DUNLOP inner tube that was made in India.
It is marked BUTYL to show what the material is. ( BUTYL is rated as excellent for containing air.)
I measured its wall thickness and found they are .085 (2.16mm) thick.  :)

No doubt in my mind which one gets installed in my new DUNLOP K70.  ;D

Today I took the ol' B5 on TX FM335, 336, and 337, otherwise known as the Three Twisted Sisters.  Some of the best Hill Country riding in this state, and some would say one of the finest rides in America.

The ride was great, but the highlight was stopping in at the Lone Star Motorcycle Museum in Vanderpool TX.  I figured it'd be the usual collection of Harleys, but the guy who owns the place is a old Aussie racer who collects and restores British bikes.  There were about 50 bikes- BSA, Norton, Matchless, and a few others I've never even heard of.  The gem for me was a beautifully restored Vincent Black Shadow.  There were a few other Vincents, some Triumphs, and even a BMW R69S.  A single 1914 Royal Enfield sat in the corner, partially restored but beautiful all the same.

The craziest part of the trip?  The San Antonio British Car Owners club showed up about an hour after I arrived.  So after I got my fill of the bikes, I ordered up a meat pie and took it to the parking lot, where I got to walk around and check out the Lotuses (Loti?), Bentleys, and even a Rolls Royce or two.  Pretty sweet day.

If you're ever in TX, be sure to pop in to the museum.  Well worth the $5 admission.

Sitting in here waiting for the oil to drain and the bike to cool down a bit. Mine came out like Motorat's, little metal on the magnet, clean screen. 14,100 miles.
Had a lot worse ones to change oil on, though. Although, this one can be a pain with all the Rockin' & Rollin' it takes to get the old oil out!
4100 miles on the K70s and the rear one is about shot.

Bare - I know this has been beaten to death in other threads, but if you don't mind...  with all the rockin' & rollin', how much new oil did you add?  More than 2 quarts?

mine seams to take about 1.5 quarts.
after the change i take it for a little ride, about 5  miles then check the level again and it never appears to need more.
