After having considered all input for how to re-attach vinyl which had come loose from bottom of seat (almost went with "Shoo-Goo, it's tough stuff) I decided to stop by a local automotive upholstery shop to see how they do it.  (This had nothing to do with the "Bikini Barista" stand next door, but did afford an intriguing view of their very talented crew  ). 

Once inside the shop, it only took a moment, and the owner had sprayed the bottom of my seat with contact cement from a pressurized pot next to his work table.  After letting it sit for a moment, he stuck the vinyl back in place free of charge.  I gave him a tip anyway for solving my dilemma, and then proceeded back to my car (by way of the Bikini Barista zone while once again admiring their fine coffee making skill  ).

Last night I got my throttle body intake insulator installed using just a bit of silicone grease on the rubber O-rings, and replaced the breather hose from crank case to air box.  The hose was badly cracked at the air box end. 

When re-installing the seat, I had quite a challenge getting the square shaft into the square hole for the front seat mount. It is an interesting bushing mount which uses the square shaft down the middle to lock it in place and provide torsional "spring" to the front with the big beautiful chrome springs in back. 

The secret trick I came up with is to use a small 90 degree vice grip on the square shaft so that you can apply some force inward as you try to get the square shaft and holes to line up beneath the seat. 

Things are looking much better now for this winters "maintenance overhaul".  Next, I need to secure my wiring harness back in the nacelle where it belongs.  After installing Koso TNT last winter, the harness drooped out and was hanging down, Bholenath has been looking somewhat disemboweled ever since!

I never had any luck with that square shaft "torsion" rotation.  I replaced it with a normal bolt and Nylock nut.  Then I got rotation.  I modified the mount again for the Indian "Lycette" seat.  A bit ungainly but with the $70 Girling-style shocks (thanks JVS) I get classic looks with much better seat and rear suspension compliance.

I fitted Oxford Commuter heated grips, something I wish I had on the bike last winter. These heated grips are very basic with only two settings, low drain on the charging system, and were straightforward to install. I've got a 4 day ride coming up next month, and if the weather turns cold at least my hands will be toasty.
I also fitted a new back tire after picking up a 3 inch nail on the way home from work last week. The original tire had done 18,000 kms (~11,000 miles) and while it still had some life in it, I figured it was a good time to replace it before the NZ winter.

Just finished pulling that hideous looking cannister off of my 2018 C5. Cleaned up the looks of the bike. When I first bought the bike and got it home, a friend came by to look at it and said, "what the F*** is that thing hanging there?" referring to the evaporative cannister. He said they should have at least tried to hide it. Well, it's gone now.

I also moved my horn to a less obtrusive location.  Cleaned up the front very nicely.

Did my second oil plus filter change at 2700 km. Everything was very very clean. No iron parts or other rubbish on the magnet nor in the iron filter.
Is it strange that just 1.9 ltr. came out or is this normal? Poured 2.0 ltr in while the book says it needs 2.25?
Anyway, up to the next 6000 km.

B.t.w. Almost forgot to mention, bike runs like a dream, 1ltr/38km and starts every cold start with just two kicks! This no typical english bike, thats for sure!!

Subtle...the entire package is very subtle.

If you can color match the paint, you need these "Girling-style" rear shocks to match the enclosed front forks:

Check your eye-to-eye shock length to make sure you get the correct ones.  JVS found something similar and I think he needed to tweak a bit to avoid upper housing contact with the frame on one side.  Close fit on both sides for me but no contact.  And much more responsive action than RE's "rigid" shocks.

Did you idle it on the center stand then let it remain in that position before draining the oil?  These engines tend to have oil "hide" inside if leaned over onto the side stand prior to draining.
