Glad you found those little gems, did you look around the Roman lead mines at Blackmoor,(Velvet Bottom)? there's not much to see but there but you can walk right through the old once smelting dams and slag heaps to Cheddar. You probably noticed the great view from Dear Leap across to the Polden Hills, Glasto Tor, the Channel and Wales of coarse.
Finished a week-long journey that's taken me all over the place. Some beautiful parts to these countries, which you'd never know about if you didn't hit the roads less travelled...

Some pictures from the ride below - including the moment I rolled over 6k miles, and some of the beautiful sights and views.

Apart from the bike being knocked over in a car park, no issues at all. Though, she doesn't seem to like being started on a very cold morning. Almost seems to lose battery voltage on cold nights... Thankfully, I carry one of those lithium jump-starter packs in my panniers, just in case.

Symmo - thanks for the Mendips recommendation. I had a lovely spin around there today. The little back-route by the Blackmoor Reserve was just the right amount of challenge... And was super impressed with how the bike dealt with it all. Looking forward to exploring more of that area in the future.

Good morning. I 'm using the Royal to go to work and I installed this flyscreen to protect myself from cold air in the morning. I like it more without the flyscreen so that when the weather is nice the withdraws. Greetings.

It's good to be back after a few months away due to work related travels, etc.  Got back to town and the battery in the Rumbler 500 was flat, dead, kaput.  Don't have a battery tender (not easy to come by around here) and was a bit hacked off as the gel/glass plate battery wasn't that old.  So I put her on the little charger I've got, hit her with 2 amp charge rate and it came up "FAULT" after a bit.  Hit her with 4 amp charge rate, same thing, then 6 amps, same ol' same ol'... Called up the dealer to order in a new battery and every time I walked past that charger I'd hit her with an attempt to charge.  Well after a while, what do you know.  She kept on going, and going, and going - and the next morning there she was, full charged, no fault light.  Talked with the dealer, said I'll be in to pick up the battery because I spoke for it - but now I don't need it.  He said "Don't worry, we'll sell her soon I'm sure."

So yesterday I rode the bike in for mechanical safety/emissions inspection.  Had a drip from the fuel hose come up after they'd already gone over her.  The tech said "We're not going to write it up, but you need to change it ASAP." So off to Bristol Bikes I went where for around $11 US they pulled the tank, swapped the hose and we were good to go.  Sure feels good to have a bike between my knees after several months of cage travel.  :D

Installed a GPS Speedo. Wrong one. Marine unit.

Then installed the CORRECT ONE!

I've got to the stage where I can't be bothered with wasting time over a simple bike sale, that's why a sign on the bike is probably the easiest way forwards, anyone interested enough to make contact will already have seen the bike.

I hear you. I tried selling my TRX850 cafe racer on Gumtree a while back and only got bites from dickheads thinking they were getting it for half price or less. i think I'll save myself the hassle and just give it to my bro in law after I've used it for a big tour next month.

I did the same today as I do near every day lately. It's a bit OCD but I pat the saddle twice as I pass by on my way out the garage to work and pray for an early spring.  She should never feel for a single moment that she's been forgotten. Everyone else in the house I've forgotten from time to time but never my trust Silver Bullet. ;)

Tried to install fancy stainless 2015 Hitchcock's head steady on my 2015 Chrome.  ::)

Turns out I have the 2014 rear tank mount design which requires a 2014 head steady.  :(

Naturally, I bought the part about a year ago so we'll see if I can still swap it out for the right one...  ???

I attempted to fit the up to 2014 Hitchcocks stainless head steady to my 2013 B5,  I don't like it at all, it requires  longer bolts and spacers  to get it anywhere near lining up . It ended up in my miscellaneous junk tray.

I was tempted to do the same Jako!  :P  Hitchcocks has agreed to swap me for the correct one that is supposed to fit my 2015 bike (with 2014 chrome tank, and 2014 bolt bung welded to frame by factory) so I am doing that.  I wanted to order some other items anyway, so this way I will get all that done. I also suggested to them that they add all additionally required bolts, washers, nuts, and spacers, preferably in stainless steel.  ;)  We shall see how it turns out!  ::)

Nice speedo Heloego (on the bike, not the beach)! I've never seen one like that... It's looking good! 8)

I ordered a set of these saddlebags. Expensive but they look very nice and I got them with locks.

Too bad you couldn't have kept the marine one - a lot of head-scratching onlookers!

80 mph on a boat, huh?  On the other hand, your correct speedo reads to 160, so...  ;D

One of our members had already swapped to a GPS number some time back and had posted a pic of his install. I've wanted to do it for a long time but only recently got around to it.
The C5 gets the same treatment soon.

So I ordered that head steady from H with a few books, gaskets, seals, etc... They did throw in the longer bolts that I will be needing with washers and nuts, the total was 100 pounds or $128.50. The shipping was 40 pounds, or $51.40! :o

In fairness, there were 3 books and a few stainless steel items but Damn, that's rediculous! :P
