What did I do with my Royal Enfield? I watched it being hauled away on a trailer by the dealership. Unfortunatey this was probably the last time I'll see it.
I got run off the road Tuesday morning by a speeder. I was making my way through an S curve that crests a hill and had slowed down just a bit because it was wet and because I've seen deer crossing in this area numerous times. Next thing I know there's a huge pickup truck right on my tail. He came through that curve hauling ass. One second there was nobody behind me and then next thing I thought I was going to get hit from behind. I served off onto the very narrow shoulder but was going too fast to keep the bike under control and wiped out. I never did look at the speedo but estimate I was traveling at probably 40 miles per hour.
My helmet, jacket and gloves did their job and I am okay other than a couple bumps and bruises and a scraped up knee. The bike's front fender and headlight are badly dented. I also scratched the seat, engine, exhaust and brake reservoir and lever. The foot peg is bent in against the kick starter. Pretty much every painted surface on the right side of the bike is dented or scratched. The handlebars are bent so there might be fork damage.
The bike seemed to run fine after the crash and I made it into work only a little late. But I'm afraid it might be totaled by the cost of replacement parts. Not even 4,000 miles on it yet.
Interestingly I recall being surprised that the bike's tip over sensor doesn't work. Funny how stupid little thoughts like that are what I recall.
And of course the c*cks*ck*r didn't even bother to pull over and see if I was okay. He just kept on hauling ass. Thanks for everything you *ssh*le!
