Installed a Slipstreamer Spitfire wind screen on the G5. Changed the oil in the Iron Barrel.

That will make the bike more rideable.

Maybe when the head steady broke, it caused other mount points to loosen or be somehow altered.  It may be prudent to check and re-set all mounting points.

Before I take it off, I will loosen the rear tank bolt, then while the engine is running, tighten the bolt back down. That should resolve the issue. If not, it comes off.

pushed Mjolnir home from the quikie-mart up the street ......   it started randomly cutting out, then just died.  wouldn't fire.

put it on the lift - spark good - compression good - fuel pressure ok.....

injector reads 10 ohms ..... hmmmm ....

looks like I'm chasing wires next weekend.

So far so good. More tests tomorrow to check for high speed flutter.

If you are replacing your head steady, after you attach it to the engine and before you tighten the rear tank bolt, start the engine and let it run while tightening the rear tank bolt.

After re-installing the stock shocks and C5 Pillion Seat support I finally got the EJK Kit installed. Tucked the controller away inside the electrical box cover.
Function check at idle good so far, but I have to wait for my hip to stop hurting before I can take it for a decent run. Hoping for the best tomorrow.

Heloego
let me know how it goes. i've been thinking of buying an EJK myself. wildbill said it works better with a straight through muffler plus it runs quicker than a standard bike.
that's sounds hard to believe ;D

My Santa Fe buddy came by today to pick up his '08 Bullet AVL, and I was still wondering how it would pull on a steep grade nearby, off we went, he with his AVL, and I with my C5 + EJK. Perfect opportunity for me to get initial impressions of the EJK system now installed on my UCE with a Stage 1 upgrade.
After a 5-minute warmup, I was very pleased at the increase in acceleration just going out the driveway. We dropped by the pumps to fill our tanks, then off for a 1/2 hour ride.
I did not make any adjustments to the initial settings of the EJK, but at the acceleration and cruise settings negotiating the hill was excellent in all gears. There is a traffic light at the bottom of the hill, so I didn't know what to expect going uphill from full stop, but even in 5th gear the pull was excellent and I still had plenty of headroom on the throttle, and since we didn't get out of town due to rain, we never had the chance to see what it would do at high cruising speeds. Still, at 50mph, if I romped on the throttle the response was much better than stock.
I can't wait to get out of town so I can really open her up!  ;D

I bought a B5 tank off of EBay and painted it. The original tank had a golf ball sized dent from when my wife first got her motorcycle license.

I bought a B5 tank off of EBay and painted it. The original tank had a golf ball sized dent from when my wife first got her motorcycle license.

The older B5 models had screw-on badges.  I guess the newer "elephant trunk" badges are glued or double-stick-taped on?  Must make building a tank much easier without needing to add the threaded lugs...

cstorckiii, there's a lot of nice details on that machine!
