I filled my tank and checked my fuel mileage....102 mpg (imp gal)!!! :)  Of course that's during breakin so I've been very easy on the throttle.  Next is my first service, interested to see how that goes..

I'm "Down" to about 79 MPG as I can run faster now that the breakin is further along.

As to what I'm doing to my Enfield today, I riding it over to Heindl Engineering, where I bought it at, for their open house. About a 60 miles trip each way and all  of it back road. Should be a fun trip.

Rode the feckin' piss out of it man.  No work.... out of the garage for a while.  Hills , woods , twisties , farm land, scraping pipes, blasting down the highway doing 90. Beautiful summer afternoon and evening.... Gawd , I love this bike.

Picked up a new Shoei Qwest helmet and went for a 2 hour ride.  I finally got rid of my old loud and hot Nolan and I am loving the new lid - comfy and really quiet.

I despise full-face helmets, but I still wear them on higher speed runs.

I like the fit and comfort of mine - so I'm inclined to wear it! - but I have a terrible time with the visor fogging.  And even one notch open of the flip-up visor directs a stream of wind right into my eyes, even at 10 mph.  I'd be curious to know if you have similar issues...

Got one of those a few months back.  Very comfy and quiet, so long as the visor doesn't whistle.  It takes a little more fiddling than the old model to get the visor just right.  If it's wrong it whistles terribly.

Amazing visibility in this helmet, especially up.  I really have to tilt my head down a fair bit to use the top edge as a sun visor now.

I wear full face all the time, you don't get to pick when you'll crash.  Face vs. asphalt only ends one way, even at 10MPH.

I saw a helmet like that but much worse on Palomar Mountain once.  A young guy had crashed his vintage Ducati and the entire front of the shield was ground so deeply you couldn't see through it.  Some Marine medics were riding, helped him up, parked the bike, and rode him to the cafe so he could wait for his friend to come with a trailer and get him and the bike.  He was beaten and bruised, but he still was able to smile and re-tell the story.

Deer suck.

And here I was about to post a quick "joke" reply to your helmet photo... I'm glad I thought better of it and read ahead!  That's quite a story - I'm glad you persevered!

No fogging, but it does blow air straight into my eyes at low speed if I notch it up one or two - past that the wind goes away.  No fogging on my helmet and no whistling what so ever.   Scotty - I'd love to hear how you adjusted your visor.  I was under the impression that these couldn't be adjusted by mere mortals.

Deer- I hate them - tons of them around here and they all seem to have a death wish.  Glad you survived.

I still hate full-face helmets, like I hate seatbelts and the gym - but I use them all religiously.  I do ride with my Bell pit boss around town (25mph and below), but never faster than that.  Just can't see or hear shit out of a full-face.

There are two screws that hold each side mechanism on, you just loosen them so you can move them and go with trial and error until you get it right.  Takes a while to get it, most people give up and send it back to the factory.  Also, closing the visor from the middle (instead of using the tab to the side) and giving it a nudge to seat it helps a lot.

My last Shoei shot a jet of air right into my eyes when propped open one notch.  The only really useful settings were wide open and closed.  This one is a bit better but I don't bother opening much these days.  Ventilation in the Qwest ain't that great, but with a Foggy Respro it never matters.  I got one a while back for fall riding when everything tends to get fogged up all the time.  It works so well and it's so comfortable I never took it out.  I tried the new helmet for a day without it before I moved it over.  Really worth it, I never get fogging ever now.

Fogging? Fogging not since I added a Penlock insert to my Quest. My HJC CF-17 came with the insert and I was so impressed I sprung for the Quest as well
