I dressed up as an elf and went on the RE to dish out presents for mentally challenged kids - they really loved the sound of the bike - more so than the presents.

that is freaking awesome, I really would like to get into something like that

Just don't buy an Advance Auto Parts (AutoCraft) AGM battery.  My spare AutoCraft battery works good for charging my cell phone with my car charger when I'm in the garage.  And.......  I don't have anything else nice to say to about them.    :-\

Do I need a special battery charger for these new glass mat batteries I've got now? (I pulled both batteries yesterday (it was 400 below here) & put them in the tiny warm room I have in the garage for the winter. They both read over 12V).

This works great for all types including AGM and you can usually pick one up for less than $30. It comes with a little connector that you attach to the battery terminals on your bike.......simply plug in your bike without having to remove your battery.

No.  All motorcycle batteries need to be trickle charged.  Just use whatever you have been using.  Tho, if you don't own a battery tender or maintenance charger, get one.  They are specifically designed for motorcycle batteries to keep them at an optimum state of charge.

Well you guessed it... I bought a neat Float Charger from HARBOR FREIGHT for $13., & wired a permanent pigtail with female plug onto the battery. Every 2 weeks, during winter, I plug it in for a few days. PERFECT!
Best Wishes, Craig McClure

Am I'm misremembering?  Or do you need a charger that doesn't de-sulfate for AGMs?  Better chargers for lead acid batteries switch to some kind of pulsing pattern to make sure the battery doesn't get sulfated and die an early death.  I think this is bad for AGMs.  On the bright side, inexpensive chargers rarely have this feature and work just fine.

And I was planning on getting a MotoBatt.

I made out like a bandit yesterday at Harbor Freight!  I got a pneumatic flange/punch tool, metric 3/8" drive swivel sockets, 10 piece screw driver set and a wire brush set for $70 w/ tax.  : D

I buy a lot of stuff there too.  And I re-read this piece very few months because it's so funny and so true.

The wife was acting like a little beeotch, so I went out to the garage and "tuned" my carb.  After about 10 minutes of some Burt Munroe action I get a text "Stop revving your motor like that! It's obnoxious!"  It's good to be able to know your wife in all circumstances.  Even for little passive aggressive revenge.   ;D

It was our wedding anniversary today and we went on a commemorative ride in memory of one of our fellow riders who past away earlier this year. We where joined by 2 Thruxtons - I'm think already on a addition to my small stable.... I received no negative text messages today.

Nice spell of weather these days.
Made longer rides, coming home by dusk, after enjoying colors of setting sun. Actually come to like the lit "Royal Enfield" logo on the MIL.  :)
