Let's see...

Replaced OEM chain with Tsubaki o-ring one, including sprocket change from 17T to 18T.  Replaced bazooka with EFI silencer.  Removed my windscreen for the summer.

I gotta say it was a little nerve-wracking; the bike feels and sounds so different!  And now that the screen is off and I can actually hear the engine when I'm riding, I have a lot of "what is that noise?" moments.  But all seems well...

McCurrier, what exhaust have you on yours? I'm planning a similar mod, but haven't decided on which to buy. Like the look

Mine is the Emgo right side upswept exhaust. They're pretty easy to find and they run around $70

I've got the reverse cone Emgo.  Same price and availability and pretty nice.  Not much louder than stock.  All the Emgo stuff is pretty good.

Thanks McCurrier and Arizoni.
Received my Crash Bar and Service Manual today and picked up saddlebags, too, so I'm off to a good start. Ran the Odo up to 223 miles today. I figure getting it to the dealer in Santa Fe will round it to 300, just in time for the 300mile service.  :)

My new saddlebags came today so I put them on the bike and took a ride down the coast to Pacifica.  Great day for a ride.

Finally got rid of that front skidmaster - I now have a matching pair of K70's.  It sure looks better!  And hopefully it will be a safer ride, too...

I found and got rid of an annoying rattle in the headlight case that had been there since I was in maintenance class a month ago!

There's a flat piece of metal about 1/2" x 2" with an S-bend in it and a small threaded hole near one end. It belongs *somewhere* in the headlight case. When I took the headlight cover off, it fell into the innards of the headlight (I didn't see this happen, I didn't know to be looking for it) and it's been rattling around in there ever since.

I'm not sure what it's for, but I'm guessing it's a clip that secures the headlight case onto the housing, and that the small screw at the very top of the housing screws into it. So that's where I put it. No more rattle!

Yes.  That sounds like the clip that retains the headlight ring in place. :)

Good! Sounds like I guessed right.

When i first took the headlight apart I had assumed I'd just lost a nut on the floor, so I replaced it with a similar metal nut I happened to have. But getting it to grip (without being able to hold the nut in place while tightening the screw) was a bitch. This makes much more sense!

Yesterday...
Put 160 miles with initial service in between. Verified no warranty issues as long as I document my maintenance, installed my Cobra low-profile seat, Diamond crash bar, and River Road saddlebags. Unhappy with the bags install, as they scratched my mudguard and removed paint down the metal on the air box. Spent rest of the afternoon buffing out the mudguard.
Noted that installation of the new seat changed the shifting dynamic of my foot. Removed and re-aligned the shift lever to compensate. Much easier now!

Performed final adjustment of my Cobra seat, swapped the Bosch POS for a NGK BPR6EIX and set gap at minimum. Put a few miles on her and the difference was quite noticeable:
---The mill now settles into a nice idle within seconds of start;
---Power response is much better, and faster than previous.
During the ride I noted the speedo wasn't working, so pulled the headlight ass'y and found the cable had disconnected from the speedo. Reconnected it and while in there removed the Headlight jumper.
I also noticed that the rat's nest of wires so commonly referred to here was non-existent, so somebody at the factory has been lurking in here and taken note. All leads were nicely shrouded and relatively neatly organized.  :)
