Yesterday, removed my solo seat cover and installed a gel pad under it. Went for a 150 mile ride out to Lucerne Valley and back, cant feel the nuked prostate anymore. Success!

Jack - between us, we'll get our seats sorted (I almost said, we'll get our seats sorted between us)!  What gel pad did you use, and where did you get it?

Drained and flushed the fork oil when I got back and this morning refilled the forks with 10 wt. BelRay and went for a test ride. OMG what a difference!

I have everything ready for this job as well - except I gotta remove the forks to do it  >:(

So following having to work of my G5 this morning following someones tampering .I find that the spark plug gap has no continuity.
Suspect that the cap being off had damaged it and it has no given-up. So have been hunting without success for a replacement. Will try again tomorrow after work.

Mattsz, I picked it up off EBAY. It's a Ultragel motorcycle seat gel pad, size medium, model K. Only had to do a slight bit of trimming with scissors for a perfect fit.

........I find that the spark plug gap has no continuity.........

The plug GAP should have no continuity, the plug CAP may have a very high resistance (on the order of 5 or 10 thousand ohms) - you may wish to check it again before seeking a replacement.

If you're talking about the cap that screws on the top of the plug, there shouldn't be one. It wont fit the connector with it on. If the plug isn't firing, check to make sure it's getting a spark to the plug. Make sure all your switches are on first. The sidestand switch, the kill switch and the clutch switch. Personally, I would just grab ahold of the plug, ground my hand to the bike and kick it over easily. If I get a shock, it's the plug. If not you need to look farther back up the wiring.

Wise guy!! If I compared that to a lot of other shocks I've gotten, it's a piece of cake! And it is quick troubleshooting! And on the other hand, we don't have enough bandwidth here to go all those stories I have about how get an electrical boost. Not quite as many as falling off motorcycles, but what can I say.

Made a sizeable tour of countryroads. State of dirt roads is ... well, potholes, puddles, mud... Have made nice if not gracious slides. Had a swell time. Now, if you excuse me, I have a bike to clean.  ;D

Just got back from a 200+ mile run. I cant believe the difference in the fork dampening after changing the oil finally. No more wheel dancing going into the corners. The front end diving when using the front brake is gone . Irons out the bumpy roads better then expected too. I wish I'd done it a year ago. Live and learn I guess !

My bike was intermittently dieing when I turned on the headlight or turn signals. I fiddled with some connections and tested the battery but I finally found that messing with the key ignition switch helped. Yesterday I took apart the ignition switch and cleaned and greased the contacts and that fixed it.

Lately it seems I often find myself sharing the stoplight grid with recent model Triumphs and Ducattis .What usually happens is this. Rider looks across at Enfield ,smirks/scoffs/sneers, lights go green, rider pops mono and disappears into the distance on one wheel. I don't normally mind , but when they start doing it two-up I must confess to feeling a tiny little bit inadequate. My imaginary girlfriend says not to worry, size doesn't matter, it the feeling you get between the legs that's important. I'm not leaving my enfield(haven't told her about IGF coz i think she's the jealous type). Please Advise.
