How to remove the Advance/Retard plate from the distributor shaft RE Bullet 500
on:

Hi Guys
I would be grateful if anyone could tell me how to remove the
Advance/Retard plate from the distributor shaft on a RE Bullet 500. If
it is screwed on, is it clockwise or anticlockwise to unscrew?
Look forward to hearing from you
Thank you

Take the two nuts off that hold the cover on the distributor. They are right hand thread. then pull the plate toward you. ERC

if you mean the advance mechanism after removing the center bolt I just gave mine some gentle side to side taps with a brass hammer, it is a taper fit and should come apart easy.

Or you could send the puller screw down the center to pop it off the taper. The advance unit(if thats what hes talking about) is threaded internally .
