Hello again all.
Its been a long time, but i still got my bullet. Had a kid on the way and other things going on so some things had to go to the back burner. Anyway I am ready to continue my restore and have some questions....

I see alot of parts on ebay from people like vintage spares and other ebay stores. Thier parts look good and  affordable, but it makes me leery ordering from India.

Has anyone had first hand experience with these people. I had emailed them and they replied back, and there feedback looks good. I just wanna hear anyones experience.
Thank you

I have good luck with India. I just got some parts in today.I have been mostly dealing with vintageconnections though I have only bought Cosmetic parts for fun but, they have seemed fair for the price.

It's a gamble.
Sometimes it's fine,and sometimes it's crap.
You have to factor that in to your decision.
If it's crap, the shipping to return the item is often more than the item is worth.

You can get good stuff. But not always.
Many things are knock-offs built by somebody else in India, and may look right, but are not even factory parts. This is okay for cosmetic things, but it could be an issue when it comes to critical safety parts or engine parts.
The vendors generally are willing to replace the parts if you complain, but the return shipping costs are high enough that by the time you're done returning and getting the new replacement, it's not a good deal anymore.

So it's a "buyer beware" kind of thing. I wouldn't recommend spending any more than you can risk losing.

I've bought seats, fuel caps, headlight visor, lights,a pedestrian slicer,etc...from India, and was happy with the prices and quality...the shipping was expensive, and took a LONG time...from now on,I'll be ordering directly from CMW...their quality and customer service are top notch...

From what I've seen here in Delhi, I'd say those words are to be heeded.

Well, not every counterfeiter makes good quality 'genuine RE bags' but some do. So, the bags were genuine but what about the parts?

I think most parts are shipped from Karol Bagh in New Delhi. That area is the hub in Delhi for accessories and parts. Most people are after your money (and mine) but if you find the right guy and hit it off with him, he'll give you decent deals. I go there once a week or two.

Yeah, I searched for it. Rs 3900 for the kit. Tempting! Had I known about it before I got the new standard kit, I might have bought it. I wonder where in Delhi this guy's located. Ok, it must be Karol Bagh but which shop? Oh, I wish I had known... :'(

I've just ordered a couple of items: cables and a seat.
I'll let you know how it goes.

LIke the others say its a crap shoot.... Pricing usualy helps me decide. Its been a bit of a learning curve. Bought some amal knock off levers and they were junk, priced too good to be true!

The speedo, minda switch, and gas tank were all good stuff. Never had a problem with shipping or parts showing up damaged. Very professional people to deal with... just gotta watch out for the junk!

...wellI've finally received all of my eBay RE buys:
sealed battery- motobat
RE cable kit (clutch, brake etc.)- vintage imports
solo seat- bulletwalla
decals- vintage imports

The parts are genuine parts...  quickly shipped etc.
The solo seat was made by another manufacturer for Bulletwalla... and it is comfortable, was a pain to install, but looks great, is gen. leather etc.  no complaints...
