I've just been doing a re-wire of my Electra whilst trying to fault find a starting problem.
I was able to reroute most of the wiring so its hidden between the battery carrier and the air filter box. (I removed the side stand switch and associated wires and replaced the fuses with blade fuse holders) I also replaced the rubber covers on the starter relay terminals because these had deteriorated and may have been shorting to the LH cover.
The only thing now visible under the solo seat is the Rectifier and magic 'GreenBox'.
I decided to leave them alone because the rectifiers fins would suggest they need to keep cool.
I also found that one of the rear tank mounting brackets had broken off at the weld; it looked as if the only thing holding it on was the paint. Fixed it with JB Weld. Ok so far.
Just what I was waiting to hear. Would you happen to have pics ? Did you need any wire extensions or were you able to just move them around.
