Very soon after installing my solo seat (which was not really easy) did I realize that the multi colored wiring became visible. It is visible from a distance, and frankly, is an eye sore.

Is there a cover for this, or can the wiring be rerouted into the batter box/air box or otherwise ?

Thanks.

I actually happen to like that sort of thing. Adds to the "unfinished" look of the machine. Rough around the edges. A touch of crudity on an old-fashioned bke is OK.

You can relocate some of it to the tool box. But then - you lose the use of the tool box for actually carrying tools.

Good old black electrical tape.  Fity-Nine cent a roll, does wonders.  Cover all but the connectors and voila!!!

It will fit all in your left tool box. no additional wires needed just some finesse. "in my case that is.

Is that the box which houses the battery ?

The Electra doesn't have a tool box like the iron barrel.  You have less choices here.  I 'd go with the 'lectrical tape or do like Scotty suggested with the black fake skin.

I've just been doing a re-wire of my Electra whilst trying to fault find a starting problem.

I was able to reroute most of the wiring so its hidden between the battery carrier and the air filter box. (I removed the side stand switch and associated wires and replaced the fuses with blade fuse holders) I also replaced the rubber covers on the starter relay terminals because these had deteriorated and may have been shorting to the LH cover.

The only thing now visible  under the solo seat is the Rectifier and magic 'GreenBox'.
I decided to leave them alone because the rectifiers fins would suggest they need to keep cool.

I also found that one of the rear tank mounting brackets had broken off at the weld; it looked as if the only thing holding it on was the paint. Fixed it with JB Weld. Ok so far.

That's some good stuff.  I like the kind in a stick best repaired some pretty bad items with it.  Even fixed a leaking gas tank on an old Allstate cycle with it.
