A nice write up at the Kneeslider about the electric Cafe.  Hammarhead, I assume these are your bikes?  40hp Royal Enfield?  Yes please.

http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2010/05/13/hammarhead-volta-102-electric-royal-enfield/

Few questions:
-What's in the tank?
-What is the range, and how do you recharge?
-Is this baby dead-silent, or what?
-What is it like to ride?

Looks just like the full fairing Cafe-kit, which is beautiful.  Can you write a bit about the bike?

All the bikes look great.  Love them.  I'll take the lot, please.  Great work.

Thanks for the kind words.  The kneeslider post was poached from Chuck Squatriglia's  wired.com piece on the volta ( http://www.wired.com/autopia/2010/05/hammarhead-volta/ ) . Chuck does a great job and I think there is little I could add to the story.

-What's in the tank?  --The onboard charging system.

-What is the range, and how do you recharge?  50-70 miles depending on how aggressive one rides.  Recharges in 2 hours at home with the big units and 4 hours with onboard system.

-Is this baby dead-silent, or what?  A little clicking at start up, no chain noise as it is a hub motor, and some road noise from the tires.  It has one loud ass horn tho...

-What is it like to ride? The best quote on this subject is from our test rider, Greg Pamart, after his first hot lap, "she is a bike."  It has the same lazy and stable handling of the ICE Enfield but has an amazing sweet spot from 15 to 65mph with very linear power.  Top speed is 75mph with the 102 Pack.  The bike has 4 more batteries now that shake down is over making a 120 volt pack, testing is underway with this configuration. We have a naked version in the works to allow for upright ergonomics and a lower price. It looks kinda cool too.

Our woodsman is still my favorite.  We have a 350 AVL version that is pretty green with 85mpg and lower exhaust note. I have added a primary case image.  Nice view without the starter appendage.

Thanks again. Please feel free to email me with questions at james@hammarhead.com

Hey, thanks for the info.  Really cool stuff you are doing.

That Woodsman in great.  I love seeing an Enfield in an art gallery.  Damn right.

Any chance that the electric version will be available as a kit at some point?
