"Needs carburetor work" normally means it has a blown engine.

It's cheap enough to buy if you want to spend the money needed  to rebuild it.

Amals do have those problems quite often.
He could be lucky, and only have carb problems.

I often find that the carbs are used as an excuse as to why they can't get it running, and there is really something else inside the motor that's bad.

Ace, I agree. Bring it home, get out your whitworths and commence. I don't trust anything on Craigslist, (which I refer to as americaspimp.com, for obvious reasons).

Dropped the seller an email.. Never hurts to look...  Strangely enough I was just offered $1000 for my basket case 67' Mustang today.....  Hmmmm,  funny how that works.

I like those Tridents. They never really got a chance to shine since the Honda CB750 came along and distracted everybody ("four cylinders must be better than three because four is bigger than three", they reasoned).

20 years ago the Trident was a premium priced classic bike in the UK. Now everybody wants pre-oil-in-frame Bonnevilles and Tridents are actually more affordable.
