Well, you should find out how fast that guy rode it, but keep in mind that the "highways" in the NYC metro area, which includes Staten Island where that bike resides, rarely exceed 45 mph due to constant congestion. I ride my Bullet on I-278, I-678, and I-495 all the time because the traffic is consistently slow.

Still, the fact that he advertises it as highway-capable is troubling.

If you're going to start the bidding at what the end price might get to, at least use a real camera to take the pictures.  What a maroon.

I'm thinkin this bike is a "Highway candidate".
That is pour in some fresh wal-mart 20w50, and let her rip down the highway till she gran-aids herself.
Then you'll have an excuse to RE-do  her with them nice Ace goodies, for a REal RE...he he.

Maybe he meant Deserted highways.

Couple of thoughts.

I have always used the word "highway" to distinguish US and state routes from "interstates." Once I rode halfway across GA on a 250cc dualsport. Bullets are the perfect "highway" bike IMO. Use of the word like that may be a geographical thing. I'm originally from NJ.

I also agree that in that part of the country it's often impossible to exceed 50 mph for more than a block. I try to never drive anywhere near there if possible. I wouldn't ride into the NY metro area for a million dollars.

I think some of you are selling your machines a little short, or perhaps reveling a little too much in the particular nature of the Bullet. It's not a 900cc Jap bike, but it's not a piece of crap either. Every time I see an eBay ad posted on here, it's got a comment something like, "it starts and runs? SHYEAH RIGHT!! what a liar!"

Item# 200462388408 makes me -much- more suspicious. What is the deal with this one?

More thoughts,

Most of the regulars on this forum ,could be considered a RE expert witness in a court of law.

With this niche knowledge , many of us become bored and enjoy a little heckling or hazing if you will..

What I find interesting is ,as these RE"s make it to eBay ,I wonder how many of them are forum members as well, but too embarrassed to say.

So yes , don't be surprised if we " forum of experts" scrutinize your RE on the auction block.

Its really human nature, ..and mostly in fun.

Was it inside, upstairs from the bar, or was it hanging from the front of the building with a neon sign bolted to it?

Well I ride mine on a Highway, 50-55 mph. I think freeway would be the inappropriate one.

Well, I do ride mine on a two lane highway at 60mph everywhere I go. I didn't like interstate riding even on a Beemer.
