Uh, yeah: Our starting point was actually our house, which is about 35 miles southwest of Tucson down a long dirt road. Guess I should have mentioned that.
The G5 is on loan for a year to the magazine I co-founded and edit, Overland Journal. The review got off to a slow start due to the transmission recall, and then a redo of the transmission recall when it was discovered that the first mechanic neglected to install a thrust bearing, leaving a transmission that sounded like bolts in a coffee can at idle.
Now it's running perfectly, and I'm starting to put some miles on it. The idea is to treat it more or less like REs get treated in India - as a do-anything, go-anywhere motorcycle. I'm getting ready for a trip into Mexico, then another circumnavigating the Grand Canyon on back roads. Thinking about Central America as well . . .
