Im looking for a relationship between engine temp and oil temp.
The idea is to get a quick idea of how hot or cold the oil is without having to measure it.

So if I wanted to get the most acurate idea of the present oil temp by using an infra red temp gun where should I check.
So far I think measuring the rear side of the cylinder would seem the most logical.
Any other ideas ?

No matter where you go, there, you are.

Yes they do, at least mine does.
On the eighth day God created the C5, and it was better looking than anything on the planet.

Yeah I tried that but it gives you the temp of the Glass window.
Not the oil.
For now I have a Thermocouple bead in the oil thru the oil fill hole.
It takes a long time for the engine temp to stablize with the oil temp.

This bike needs an oil cooler.
