My $100 dollar motor for  the  2001.  I think it  will  clean up  nice. rebuilt the carbs and cleand up the alt. Good  running xs650 yamaha roadster

Ordered filters and a 520 18tooth sprocket for the motor today.  Rubbs hands  together  ;D

You picked a real sweet motor for the swap. Can't think of a better choice. Post pictures.
2005E Fixed and or Replaced: ignition, fenders,chainguard,wires,carb,headlight,seat,tailight,sprockets,chain,shock springs,fork springs, exhaust system, horn,shifter,clutch arm, trafficators,crankcase vent.

Great motor, and great price.  I will have to keep an eye out for a deal like that.  After thinking about that 11 second 1/4 mile, you may want to get brakes that will handle the slowdown.

Someone has done this allready? Thats even better!  Any frame cutting? I think it's a great low cost alternative to a musket. That mill has to be 50 hp, and being a tandem twin, has the right Rumpity-Rump. I love it.

Found a better spot than the hand truck for the motor allthough a little bit sacreligious. some  more to  do...the tank will need  raised up a maybe a inch.

Wow, did you have to fabricate the frame connections?  Where is the battery going to be located?  Will you be able to stop this fire breather?

Brakes... not this  year. i do still have the yamaha donor bike...was thinking the whole front end....  not sure. Bltridr has some ideas i am intersted in about  high performance compounds for the front brake as well.
Rear motor plates were cut out and installed as well as a undercarriage subframe cradle.. in pic below

ya its been done. had to cut the lower rear trans mount off. this motor with 2 into one pipe and pod filters about 55ish hp. So far about 400 bucks in parts,engine, steel and fasteners.
