I wear leather flight jacket ( under my rain coat)
Red Wing leather boots (these are made in USA)
Old ATV helmet that came with the used ATV.

Its all about risk assessment.

I really think there is no argument as to what is safer.  Full face is safer.  End of story.  A full face helmet does not restrict your peripheral vision.  The sides should not stick out into your vision or something is wrong.

What you probably meant to say is "there is no arguement as to which offers the most protection"  not which is safer.  The safer helmet is the one that fits the best and is the less annoyting to wear...anything that takes your focus away from concentrating on yourt surroundings while riding isn't safe.

what can I say.. I have had all sorts of helmets in my years of riding, mostly full face when I was touring a lot..but since I got rid of all my big bikes and have this RE.. I went with a Davida Classic.. which I have not worn yet.. this summer's riding just found me with my hair blowing in the breeze , all 22 inches of it

Does it get knotted?     My wife always puts hers up because hers tangles.

the RE is amazing..  my hair stays flat against my back and doesn't blow in the wind straight up  like with the big bikes with the aerodynamic BMW farings which always made a mess of things

That's all over and done.
The recall happened last year, no HCI-50 helmets were available for about an entire year, and now the new models are back, with the DOT cert.

It's been corrected, and i wouldn't hesitate to get one from a reputable vendor like CMW, but I wonder how many of the old defective ones have ended up in the hands of uncrupulous flea bay vendors.

probably as safe as my divida classic

I go out of my way not to fall..

I've slid across roads that said falling gravel in colorado and my mind went ===t marbles as i headed for the edge of reality..  I have lifted my leg up and over the tank as someone ran a stop sign and I was getting ready to bail... I have been crossed up 5 feet off the ground on back roads in Bowling green Ky on an off road on road dirt bike heading for someones windshield in a curve..  managed to miss the barb wire too..  had to stop and pee though after the fun... yea/// some fun.. i've enjoyed every moment of reality..  since I have the Enfild..  No helmet..  call me crazy call me insane  .........  I'll say yEa :D

Few if any I would think.
I may be wrong but I think it may have been Kevin ( please correct me if I'm wrong ) who posted about the importer refusing to sell any of helmets when he found them lacking. There was a whole container full.
No matter where you go, there, you are.
