My son and I were out on our 07 classics yesterday for a 20 mile run and as we were coming to a stop my son's bike died. Wouldn't restart. No power showing at amp meter and turn signals and other electrics don't have power. Checked the battery and it is OK, fully charged. Checked the easy fuse and it's good. Going to check the other fuse today. If that is OK is there another spot to check that would cause loss of power to ignition and other electrics? I know the head light runs only when engine is running. I remember reading somewhere here about connectors behind headlight sometimes causing electrical problems.

Thanks in Advance!

PS  I'm going to check the wiring diagram now..

The hard to get at fuse is in what circuit? I can't seem to find it in Snidal's manual.

Looks like the first check will be the Ignition switch and then the amp meter as power for most everything goes through there.

You could do a quick and dirty check of the pigtail that comes off the bottom of the ignition switch itself.  Sometime that connection or the one that is similar to it that goes to the ammeter gets stretched and comes loose.

Not ot steal Ace's in put..check the snap connector at the ignition switch. Mine popped apart did the same thing.  Also the bullet connector at the coil to ppints lead.  One fuse is under the seat and one in the tool box also.  Will.

Thanks... Will check out the connectors as they seem to be the most likely.

The fuse under the seat is protecting what? The one tool box looks to be the main fuse.

I have looked and can't find the fuse that is under the seat in the wiring diagram and it has me curious.

Good question,  I upgraded that thing to a blade type and moved it into the tool box but I still have no clue why its there...   Maybe someone at the factory has a brother that sells fuse holders...

I had a complete power outage a while back although the battery was fine. I checked every connection on the bike, checked the fuses, tested the ignition switch with the multimeter, made sure the grounds were clean, and found nothing wrong with any of these things. Turned out a wire was getting pinched between the tank and the frame until it finally shorted out. The short also burned up a long length of wire that had to be replaced, so one gremlin led to another (it was replaced with heavier gauge wire; the factory stuff is pretty thin). You might want to take a look under there just in case.

I also checked every diagram in both the Snidal manual and the super factory manual at least five times and I couldn't find that fuse marked anywhere on any of the digrams. If you find it on one of the diagrams, let me know 'cause I never did.

I also asked here a couple of times what circuit it was protecting but no one had an answer for me, so I'm still not sure what it's for (although that fuse kept blowing when I turned on the ignition until my other problems were fixed).

I later upgraded to blade fuses, much sturdier than the self-destructo test tube vials (one of them literally fell apart in my hand when I removed it).

You guys beat me to the punch! :D

I had an ISP outage for a while, and couldn't post.
Finally got back on, and I see that everybody has it covered.

Or learning from past experience (IE;middle of the night or in heavy traffic) that the items I mentioned were pretty much fubared.  Will.

Forget about finding a wiring diagram for the second fuse there is no wiring diagram for this set up. All I know is if either one is blown nothing works.   ERC
