Well, my brothers and sisters, I spoke late this afternoon with Marc Hayes, Admissions Director, at the CAEPE SCHOOL and learned from him that the Kevin Mahoney donated C5 is still available because the drawing date has been postponed to the night of December 14, 2009.  He further explained that the number of tickets sold was just under 500.  In addition, there's going to be a motorcycle show and the hosts agreed to display the C5 at the show so that the magic number of 1,000 tickets can be reached prior to the new drawing date.  My comments to Hayes were: That's a wonderful plan and I'll buy an additional ticket -- DRT (Done Rat Then).

As you might remember, the first ticket is $25.00 (USD) and subsequent tickets are $20.00 (USD).  So, my suggestion is that you guys and gals try to beat me out of a C5!!!

I would think more tickets would sell if it was talked about in the various forums like Cycle World, advrider, triumphrat, and even smaller ones like caferacer.net and DoTheTon.

i personally want to thank all of you for helping with this effort. Marc and others have really worked hard on this raffle. I am hoping the school does well with this. Your support and 'spreading the word" will be a big help.
Best Regards,

HELLOOOO -The rules say the drawing was November 12th.  Not much incentive for anyone to buy a new ticket there!

I would love to buy a ticket.
But, what if I won?
I have no way to pay the IRS taxes that they(and the raffle people) are going to demand before I could pick up the bike. This is stated in the rules.
It's like "winning" the right to pay a huge lump sum tax, or I can't even get the bike.
And I couldn't pay the tax, without selling the bike anyway, which I can't pick up until I pay the tax.

So, as much as I'd like to participate, getting hung for a huge tax witholding bill  on $6850 of "income" is not my idea of "winning".
I realize that they cannot control the IRS rules, so I don't blame them, but it's not anything that I could participate in without going afoul of the IRS.

Paying tax on that amount seems like peanuts if you won a nice bike like that.  ERC

Well, Br. Ernie, I urge you to please carefully reread my original post at the top of this page.

Hmmmm,  this requires some thought... Since purchasing additional tickets does increase the odds....

Yes, it's true.
But only if one has the money, which I don't.
Right now, selling Ace Air Canisters is my only income.

So I won't be able to participate, and that leaves more chances for everybody else.
Perhaps one day, I may be able to do things like normal people do, and then I'd like to just buy a C5 of my own.

Why doesn't the C5 have a kick starter?
