Ernie,
That CDI unit is only in the AVL models.
None of the Iron Bullets have it.
They all have points.

Well... my Indian Electra has the Iron head and the CDI unit...  :)

Is this a US bike?
As far as I know, all the US Iron Bullets have points ignitions, and the AVL models have electronic ones.

WELL...after re-reading my posts, and all of your fine ideas,I went back and double-checked EVERYTHING...Vince hit the nail right on the head...when I pulled/cleaned/reinstalled the carb,I had it leaning outboard just a bit too much...like I said, there may have been a few beers involved...when I tilted it back as far in towards the center as it would go,that put just enough slack in the cable for it to idle down...no more wide-open throttle,no more sticking...just putt-putt-putt...whew...I knew that the slide wasn't 180 degrees out...I feel like an idiot...the bike was doing just what it was supposed to...as usual,it was the nut that connects the seat to the handlebars that had everything screwed up...sooner or later,I'll have her squared-away,and be able to ride more than wrench...thanks,Vince,you saved my sanity...and thanks to everyone else with a suggestion...you Enfield guys ROCK...Bullethead63~

Hi Ace,

No, it is an Indian Electra 350cc (model 2007). I bought her new in Kathmandu (Nepal) for travelling in Nepal and India and took her home  ;D after the trip. There are a few pictures of this fantastic trip in the photo gallery. Oh, and in case you are wondering, we are still in love.  ;D

Don't feel too bad,Blthd. When ever I have a problem I go right back to the last thing I "fixed".That is because this has often been the cause of the new problem.
