Here is the Electra muffler on my C5, there is a noticeable increase in power and it sure does sound sweet! I used a Drag Speciality's heat shield to cover the joint and clean up the looks.  No changes were made to the air intake or anything else, It went on pretty easily. What do you think?

You put it on the original header? What's your guess on how much weight you lost by getting rid of the original muffler?  I gotta do this....

Nice work mate! Looks and performance, can't complain eh!

So performance wise, is using an Electra muffler better than say the C5 upsweep silencer? 4hp is a pretty nice boost, what does the upswept give?

Sooooooooo, when you go to Starbucks to compare dyno charts with all your Harley buds how do you work the butt dyno in to the conversation?

Muffler looked (looks) good. Thanks for the idea!

This is about the rig that I used on the Stripey C5 ..... Tossing the original silencer on it probably takes about 40 pounds of dump truck ugly off the bike! The little silencer sounds best in the world and probably DOES free up at LEAST four or five HP's ..... it makes that little C5 QUITE perky when you twist the happy handle!  ;D
Spare the pig iron - spoil the part!

So, Br. Scoot, you also installed the Electra muffler on Sr. ScooterBob's Stripey and, because of EFI Magic Dust, I would say that you left the header pipe undisturbed!  The remaining questions are: Did you by chance also mess with a) the air filter/box or b) the PAV?  Along with all our colleagues, I look forward to receiving your answers!

Papa Juan - There IS no PAV on the C5! It runs plenty clean enough not to need that extra complexity. The airbox was left the same so as not to disturb the smooth air flow over the manifold absolute pressure sensor. As I explained in an earlier post - the volume of the stock airbox is huge to allow non-turbulent air to flow through the throttle body. This enables the MAP to "see" the most accurate air flow in the intake without reversion or other pressure pounding that a small volume airbox would create. I believe that changing the airbox and ignoring the MAP's sensitivity would lead to worse, not better performance. Opening up the "go outer", however, seems to be what the little engine REALLY likes!
