i am hoping someone knows the oil weight and the quantities that were traditionally used on a 1958 re indian trailblazer for the motor, transmission and primary?

also, does anyone know which wires go where on the 4 prong solid state rectifier?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Since nobody is responding, I'll throw in my 2 cents.

The transmission is initially filled with Type "00" transmission grease. Then if it needs to be topped-off you use 50wt motor oil.

The engine can use 20w-50 motor oil. I think the originial specifications called for different oil in summer and winter back then, and would depend on the temperature conditions for straight weight oils.
The primary can use 30wt motor oil.

The engine fill level is shown on the dipstick.
The primary and transmission are filled until they just barely start to run out of the level-setting holes on the sides.

Can't help on the rectifier wiring.

Good post, ERC.
My info was not from a manual.
I was just going by the seat of my pants.

Was wondering jade do you have a trailblazer that is running? If you have one that has recently been rebuilt you could use the multi weight oil that ACE suggested. If moter has some time on it I would stick with the low detergent single weight oils.Nice job on that oil filter Ace. With some plumbing you could probably use it on the Trailblazer.  ERC

I have a 6 volt system + ground, it has the red connector on the bridge rectifier(not sure if it is different from the black) let me know if yours is the same and I will look where my wires go...

I don't have solid state rectifer on any of my bikes. To answer your question go to Podtronics on line they show how to wire their solid state stuff.  ERC
