Here's one for Kevin.  I'm a little reluctant to buy R.E. just yet, as I'm a lot of miles from any dealerships.
I understnad that the UCE's are likely to be easier maintenance, but don't fancy the idea of having to get a trailer and drive 300+ miles for serviceand possible warrenty work.
Any likelyhood of a New Orleans area dealership in the foreseable future?  I'm sure they would sell as well here as anywhere, but we're just too far from a service facility for my money.

I live 700 miles away from my dealer. No worries

You got this forum and a telephone. Right?

REPozer, you have a point, but just how would you get your bike the 700 miles to the dealer, in the event of needing warrenty work?  I'm also wondering if your warrenty is even valid if you don't have yor bike serviced by a dealer?

My bike will never darken the door of a dealer.( never say never, unlikely)

I do all my servicing.

The dealer will send warranty parts to me.

I purchased my RE in the crate at had it shipped to me.

The key to purchasing long distance is to have a GOOD TRUST WORTHY DEALER, and be wiling to do your own servicing.

  • Maintenance is as much art as it is science.

I drove 556 miles to get mine from a dealer. Between the dealer and CMW I can get any parts I need shipped.  I only have 300 miles on it, but so far washing and waxing has been the hardest thing about owning it.

Nice bike!
On the eighth day God created the C5, and it was better looking than anything on the planet.
