Had a had time with Progressive , they did  not know what a RE was and charged me for an antique bike.Allot of wasted phone time and money.

Gieco was fast and easy. I would recommend you give them a call.

I'm still tyring to wear out my AVL Classic for an excuse to purchase a G5....no dice. ;)

REpozer,

Insurance problem:  I called it a Royal Enfield C5.

It's a "Royal Enfield Bullet Classic C5".  Set straight through call to the underwriter.  My bad.  15 minute fix.

That did it....I'm insured and I'm paying like $20 less per year than for the 2004 Victory Vegas the C5 just replaced.

Life is good.

The bike is a blast.  Sounds like I'm being chased down the road by my lawn mower, but it is a blast to ride.  Double suspension in the rear is super cool on my destroyed spine.  I like it.

Congratulations ! you've made a great choice for a bike, show us pictures, get ready to answer a lot of questions at gas stops.
On the eighth day God created the C5, and it was better looking than anything on the planet.

Thanks all!

So...I'm feverishly hacking away at my break in miles when the sun sets and I notice that there is a flickering light coming out from under the instrument cowling onto the steering neck.  Come home and find two of the three bulbs going to the warning bezel are swinging free.  Which goes where?  I look at the wiring diagram in the owners manual and note that the print isn't really print and wire color marking is sparse.  So....gonna call dealer and/or visit dealer.  He has another C5 there which I can throw an eye on.  Bike stays home.  Dealer is 90 minutes from my house back road, break in friendly miles.  Dealer is 6 miles from where I work.  Rode the Ural in today.

Gotta laugh.  Really.  Learned to laugh owning the Ural.

Stay tuned.

Well I assume you'll try the easy stuff:
does one light up when you put on the hi-beam?
does one light up when you put on a turn signal?
does one light up when you put it in neutral?

I miss my 2000 Deco with the 750 that I installed and the old LL fork that I grafted over from a '98 Patrol!

Congrats on the new bike!!!!

I pick my British Racing Green '09 Classic AVL up Saturday (the 15th).  ;D

Thanks for the info on the insurance issues. I had Progressive on my previous bikes. How does Geico compare in price for similar coverage on the same rider?

Thumper,

Nada.  I'm talking about the warning light bezel, you know, the low fuel and ML display.  I reckon I can do something simple like run her dry, toast the fuel pump and see which one lights...... :)

I have an '05 Gear Up some rich guy bought and broke within 1900 km.  He traded it in at the Victory dealership where I got two of my bikes from and I picked it up for $5k.  Took me about a week to fix her, and wouldn't you know, I've gotten to fix her every couple weeks since.  No dealers around.  I've had it for about 18 months and have about 11,000 of my miles on her.  The Vegas has had to share time so she's maybe only pulled 10,000 since the Ural showed up.  I sold the Vic to buy the C5.

For the Ural, ALL I've had to fix were 1,244,862 wiring problems, weld the left front turn signal back on, repair the final drive, leaky head gasket, rejet, shim the carbs after I installed a air cleaner NOT designed (like the Rusky one) to aspirate rain and snow, on my third set of carb flanges,  yada, yada, yada.  A work in progress.

Anyway, any ne know what color wires the ML and check engine bulbs have?

:D :D :D  Right there with ya!  I have a 2002 Tourist and promised my wife I wouldn't buy another "breaky-downy" bike as my son calls it. We love that bike, but it helps if you/helps you have a  sense of humor
