Not sure if this is the right place to post this,but.........took the little metal friend for a spin today and watched the odometer turn over to 4000 mi.1st time I have seen a thousand mi mark happen. We were between College Mound and Bevier,Mo.Rolling 60,as usual.Sure do appreciate this thing.I do not foresee a long life for this engine as it suffered a terrible break in.But,today it is just super.Ok,all done.

What happened during the break-in?

I must retreat to my place of Zen and meditate on this.

If you made it thru the break-in period okay, without seizing or other major issues, then you'll probably be fine.

Slider-Runs great,1st kicker most of the time.No oil issues.Just runs sweet with a cough and die about once every coupla weeks.Thanx for the reassurance, Ace.I do have faith in it and would go just about anywhere a 2 lane would take me.

I was raised hearing both schools of thought.

One said, break it in gently and work up to fast.

The other said, if you want it fast, break it in fast.

I still don't know who's right, if anyone.
