on: July 25, 2009, 02:07:12 am
I left the house at 9:am; 73 degrees and no wind. What a great
day for a ride. The plan was to meet forum member Mathew
Harris for lunch at Bill’s Toasty Shop for lunch and then do a little
sight seeing south of town. Bill’s is one of those dive burger joints from
the 50’s or 60’s that never closed. Then the sight seeing;  there is a grave
site  nearby  where a circus elephant is buried…
It was great meeting Mathew and his 1999 Bullet. The one ritual we
did at the grave site was to adjust his tappets!! I think his neighbors will be
Able to sleep now; MAN THEY WERE LOOSE and LOUD. It was great
meeting another Like minded person, aka – Bulleteer. There is nothing better
than spending the day talking motorcycles.
I’ll let the pictures tell the rest - Mike

LOL,,  I clicked on the thread thinking it was posted by one of those folks over in the far east.  Thought I was going to see a bunch of bones like in those old Tarazan movies...

Cool picks anyhow...   Adjust them tappets....

What is that  gold-colored round thing above your distributor? Very interesting.

Sounds like a fun ride.

Perfect weather for riding, good food, good company, could not ask for a nicer day.  Learned something new, valves are quieter and now I can actually hear that semi coming up behind me!

That is the oil collector that I improvised. It works much like the catch-can under
the seat only bigger.

It's always nice to have a destination to ride to eh?

I was supposed to be at the VMD right now but as a gaze out the window at the thunderstorms I guess I'm not missing too much by riding the old keyboard instead.
I did get my G5 back yesterday and put some miles on it so everything's not a wash.

You know the deal; it doesn't take much to get me out....
are you going to have it run-in to be able to ride it to Missouri in September?

G-Spots already broke-in to my concern.
Took it kinda easy for 50 miles and then thrashed it for another 60 and done.
One more thing I did do to it was put a 18 tooth countershaft sprocket on it. The motor didn't even notice the larger sprocket. Less vibes between 55/65 cruising speeds.
Yea, I'm getting pumped.
And did I mention BEER at the final destenation?

50 more miles on the G5s clock.
I forgot to mention that the White Bitch has a bit more than 1100 miles on it's new engine now and is soon to loose it's "bitch" status.
Got new tires on it, a cush seat, a luggage rack and a set of pre 99 bars on it. Only thing it needs is a throttle lock and about 500 more miles and it will be ready also. Turning out to be a pretty sweet running machine.
So one way or the other I'll be riding an Enfield there.
