LOL,,,   Gotta love it.   Now that you have it ironed out I imagine a nice day of riding gives you even more satisfaction.

Alot of the people who sell their Bullets are not real good at keeping them running or taking care of the needed maintenance, and then things break down and they get disgusted and sell.
It's typical that a used Bullet will need some sorting because of previous owner issues.

Most of the people who are good at keeping the bike going, and know what is needed to keep it going, never sell them.

If you know what to do with a Bullet, then you can usually buy a used one that is in need of sorting for a pretty good price, and have it running and riding great in no time.

I bought a Ural cheap because it need the valves  and the carbs adjusted, the guy was amazed that I rode past his house the day after I got it. He had given up on it and was sure it was junk.
On the eighth day God created the C5, and it was better looking than anything on the planet.

Just bought a cream puff 1981 Honda GL500 Silverwing In terstate for $700.00 Only has 44,000 0n the clock.  Much the same seller type, had done a $1 paint job (but half baked body work).  Installed new clutches, seat, and tires only to experience a charging system problem.  Half hour of investigating and half hour with solder and mini torch and problem is gone.

This bike is valued at almost $1500 lot value, and have gone as much as $2500 recently.  So the long and short is he ran out of patience and wanted to hang it on someone, original asking price was over $1200, he settled for less than the cost of the work he did.  Oh well I'm a happy camper.  Will.

Sounds like a person with a little mechanical knowledge could scorer the country side for good deals and have a nice collection of RE's.
