I am looking for an OD green helmet,  I want full face, and light, so of anyone can direct me to a green, light, and safe helmet... I would like to keep it under $300, but If you know of a GREAT helmet that is cool for the military Enfield, Sweet!!

Many Thank!

Can't help you there, you can always have one painted you know.  I have a camo half helmet I bought on flea-bay for $25 delivered.  Now that was a great auction.  Will.

I would feel safer with a full face, I know it's not exactly period correct but after readin about the guy who hit a van mirror and all...

Well I guess I just would rather be safer than sorry.

I vouch for the full face as well.  There are some models that would look cool in olive drab.  Safety first.

I do admit I look a little funny riding down with a full face helmet and an oiled duster, though.

Helmets are an individual choice.
Flush the fashion, choose what you like.
No matter where you go, there, you are.

Helmets are definitely a personal choice. I have two, a full and a 3/4. To me, its not about whether I will die but if I am in a crash, I want my face to at least be protected. I am not pretty enough to live with an even uglier face.

But probably not as funny as the guy on a crotch rocket with a fullface, shorts, and flip flops. :D

I think your best bet is to get one that fits you well and scuff it up and paint it. A poor fitting helmet is a pain. Look for fit and function first. They make a primer for plastic and the color can be your chosing then. They make a faceshield now that covers half your face, looks like a pilots helmet. Pretty cool.
Here are a few mfgs that have military looking helmets

PS, I'm not getting into the helmet debate

Here's an interesting European helmet called the Osbe Tornado in their Green Graphic version.
It's Euro certified,  not Dot, but the standards are similar.
Styled like a military fighter pilot helmet.
Has 2 face shields that slide up into the shield carrier on top of the helmet.
About $270 plus shipping, from Designer Helmets in the UK.

I have an AGV Dragon (in matte silver) and it's the helmet I wear most of the time.  I do have trouble with my eyes watering when anything but the warmest air hits them (even from under the chinguard in my full face helmet!), so I often have the shield off and use my Jeantet T2 Aviator goggles instead, but I love the helmet.  The Dragon does have a kind of "helicopter pilot" look to it!

You can see examples a large variety of helmets including those here

Here are some examples of available eye pro  http://www.labsafety.com/search/eye+wear/

< stepping up on my soap box now>
Friends, riders, Bullet owners,, lend me your ears,,,,,

There are many proponents of ATGATT (all the gear all the time) here.

I like to ad an additional A for appropriate  ATAGATT.

By that I mean lighter/cooler protective wear for warmer seasons and heavier/warmer for the cooler seasons.
Being too warm impacts our awareness and judgment just as much as being to cool.

I have mentioned the above companies not as any particular endorsement but for their visual references . Shop where ever you want.

The only thing I want to to "sell" you on is the the idea of appropriate and proper fitting survival gear.

Please ignore sales speak like "motor clothes" and "riding apparel". Instead realize that what you wear or don't wear is survival gear.

Fit and function first, fashion last.

Thank you

< stepping down off of soapbox >

Modified to add,,,,

It has been brought to my attention that the preceding could easily be taken as being against style.

I apologize to any one it came across in that way to.

It was meant as an encouragement to wear survival gear and not leave it behind or compromise your chosen protection level in the name of convenience or others opinions of how it may look.

Yeah after I read about the weight of the helmet being important too, I am considering any good looking green or black helmet, that is safe and light.

I just was wondering if such a helmet existed that was somewhat old style and light and face protecting.
