anyone have any ideas on how to get the gas cap to seal better?..
everytime I go for a ride, I have gas all over my tank when I get back.
the paint next to the rubber seal is already gone.. :o

It's a 2007.

and the dealer I got the bike from no longer sells RE's..

Thanks

Same thing happens to me. Maybe CMW can come up with an accessory for this, like a better rubber gasket.

Don't know about the later bikes, but my 2000 model has a little hole in the top to release pressure. I noticed it would leak out the hole when the tank was full. The hole is offset so I always make sure that it is at the top of the cap instead of the bottom. No more leaking problems......Dew.

My 2006 only leaks when I fill it up too close to the top.

I'd try cutting a second rubber ring gasket and just overlaying the OEM one. It it worked you could glue them together or just leave well enough alone.
