Attention please! Scoots4u in Volo, (Northeast) Illinois has a number of cast iron Bullets for sale. We bought up the last of the cast irons that the factory had last Fall. We have Classics and Deluxes available. Also have one of the commemorative "Final Edition" models that might be available.
We presently have 15 new Enfields in stock from 2007 to 2009. Also stock the Cozy sidecars and the Inder trailers. Cash works well but most trades will be considered. Ask for Bob. 815-363-4720 or scooterdude@prodigy.net. Get 'em before they're gone!

Is it me, or does this not seem to belong here? I have always been impressed with CMW not using this forum for spam and letting it remain technical and helpful.

It kinda hit me that way too.
But, I suppose that if somebody is looking for a new Iron Barrel Bullet in that area, it might be helpful for them.
I guess it's borderline spam, but might help somebody.
I think maybe in a non-technical forum might have been a better choice.

Out of four total posts scooterdude has made three sales pitches. Glad Vince and others don't do that.

I have to ask though, I guess I wasn't paying attention at the time. Not that I'm buying what are commemerative "final editions"?

Also, I think stuff like this would go over better if scooterdude would help out with the technical questions. I'm betting he would have a lot to add.

They stuck a sticker on the last 25 Iron barrels. I guess it makes them faster.

I hate to bring up Urals again, but I belong to a few Ural forums. There are a few dealers who post on there, like Vince and Holopaw do here. Not only are they a source of information, but it makes members feel familiar with them and it is a great marketing technique.
I never met Vince, for example, but I feel like I know him and would feel comfortable buying from him.
Ilya, the Ural owner, posts very infrequently on the company website. When he does, Ural owners have an orgasm and cover him with accolades. The "President" is speaking to us commoners! BFD.  I told them that the Enfield importer is on our forum almost every day!

:) I like that. Can I just buy the sticker?

Every time a car sales person shows me a car with a spoiler, I always say deadpan "Oh yeah, those spoilers speed em up." Makes em look at me close to see if they have a real sucker or somebody messing with them.

I don't know that it is wrong, but maybe there could be another area for dealers to push their bikes. I am actually casually looking for a good (great) deal on an iron military, but I think scooterdude is off my list.

But that's unpossible! I was told by a dealer that mine was one of the last ones. Just like Slider's.

I would totally do that, just as an inside joke.

I hate spoilers. If it's not doing something aerodynamically, it's fake. Take it off. JMO.

Boys - i have to take responsibility for any perceived breach of protocol here. This is completely my fault. Scooterdude is in fact a really good guy who is only doing what I suggested. We were talking yesterday and he mentioned that he had a bunch of Iron Barrels. I told him that there are not that many left out there and he should consider participating in the forum. This is all on me and none on him. I would like to point out however that there are not that many Iron Barrels left on dealers floors.
Best Regards,

If we had another forum area for bike sales dealers and other people could list their own bikes too. I am sure it would turn into people selling other stuff though, like I got this hello kitty toilet seat...

But back to spoilers...

Yeah, I'm not so sure that the hosts need people trying to sell their used bikes here.

I appreciate this site being available and it should be geared towards selling the new stuff. IMO

This listing has used bikes for sale, 2007-2009, doesn't that fall into the no used bikes category?

I frequent a VW site thesamba.com which has classified, I sold a Bug there and it went great. I don't think CMW sells directly to individuals very much, so it really would not compete with them, and it would give their dealers a place to list opportunities.

Just my $0.02.

It sure helps not to have spam (read that DAMN Spam) on the forum--that, on the one hand.
On the other hand, Scooter's notice is definitely a very fine benefit to anyone out there looking for a new Iron Barrel, which bikes are now scarcer than hen's teeth.
I suspect the latter well cancels out the 'problem' with the former.  IMHO, that is.
If I already didn't have an Iron Barrel Classic, I'd sure appreciate the notice!  :D

Guys, what is the problem?   ???  These are NEW unsold cast iron Bullets (check the website) - something that is hard to find now.  Kevin (our HOST) recognized that some folks might still want the old classic design and told the guy to post it.  Relax!  :P

I agree Eamon... I wouldnt really count that post as an advertisement... Just a helpful tidbit that will probably make 15 people that may or may not frequent this site very happy... Now when they start trying to sell us spoilers we might have a problem...

I understand the concern, but I personally don't mind that a dealer announced new bikes that people on this forum might be interested in.

As far as a place to advertise used bikes or even new ones. The more of our bikes bought the more parts bought. A rising tide floats all boats. This wouldn't really impact our host much at all. If someone wants a new bike, they are going to buy a new bike and since these all go through the importer, no foul. If someone wants a used bike, they are going to get a used bike but they sure are going to need a place for parts. Again, no foul.

Now,  if I had the extra cash would I buy another Iron or a UCE Bullet...  Hmmm, we probably will never know, but it would be a hard decision...   Irons are just so cool...

While I don't have a problem with an Enfield dealer making known that he has classics for sale, people should be aware that http://www.royalenfields.com does a good job of searching out used Enfields and putting some info about them.  There are some other interesting articles as well, so if you are looking into R E and don't need a new one, this might be a good source.
