This foot is getting boring fast - Still can't do much, can't start the Bullet, can't fix it.. and I am bored out of my skull.   It feels different, so something is happening in there - I can feel it, but it doesn't hurt so much..

I tried selling the Bullet, but nobody was interested, and I ain't terribly sure if I really want to sell. By the time I can do the timing, and get it started again, it will be winter, when two wheels are less attractive than three.   The problem with fixing it is twofold - I cannot crawl around, as getting up is kind of painful, but the main reason is the location - the bike is in the shed, between immovable objects, and I can't climb over to get it out. If I could, I probably couldn't get it back into the shed, and it hates rain.

Oh well, another 6 weeks and it should be getting better.

I'm glad to hear your foot is getting better!!! I wish you weren't so far away, I would be more than happy to come by and help. Is there any Bulleteers in your area that could help you out??? Maybe someone will read this and give you a hand. Hang in there Indy!!!!    Mark

Ditto t120r;

How much are you asking for it and what sort of shape is it in, besides the timing being painfully off. ;)

The rules of this forum dictate that one cannot sell things here.. so the attempts I made to sell were elsewhere.

If you're still interested in REs, why not trade it in for one with an E-start at your local dealer?

Talk to a friend who has a garage with an open space. At least you will have somewhere to hang out during the winter and tinker.

I am still very much interested in Bullets - It would take more than a broken foot to kill the enthusiasm, I'd never thought of trading it in - Usually you get more from a sale than you do from a trade.. I will look into that option.

In this location, I know no one. For the first time in my life, I have no local friends.

IBT

Is this a new sales slogan? "Buy a Royal Enfield and become Billy No-Mates"  :o

I went out with my usual mates (Saturday Boyz Club I call it) for a ride last Saturday to a cafe. Smallest bike in the group was a BMW GS1150 while the largest was the Yamaha MT01 1700cc! Slight HP advantage they have so I get 'sent-on-ahead' as I'm on the Bullet 500ES. They saw me some few hundred yards ahead apparently in front of some cars after about five miles then lost me as they went a slightly different direction; mine being longer. They said I was holding up the traffic. I countered I'd just overtaken them all!!!
I though never saw them from start to finish. I got to the cafe about seven minutes behind them having done about seventy miles. Good but lonesome ride  ;D
If it ain't broke-------------------------- fix it 'till it is!

   Hey Indiana !   Hate to hear about your foot, and glad its getting better.  Pacience broke my foot once about 4 years ago, when I had the Boyer-Bransden electronic ignition in her. She did fine riding on the road with it.  But her stock charging system wasn't adiquet enough to keep the battery charged up riding around town, and she kicked back brutally at low voltages.  She now has her points and condenser back, and we are both very happy.
Take CARE, be BAD ;-) and ride SAFE ....... D.B.

The problem here is that I am never usually here - I bought the house a few years ago, and don't live it - I got here this time in the middle of July, and have yet to meet anyone - no neighbors..
