Using E-start, I find all of a sudden I have to pull the clutch in to start the bike.  After it catches, I let the clutch out and it idles fine. So- any clues about what fell off, crossed up, shorted, came loose, etc?    OH- this is while on the center stand BTW.

Is your neutral light working? Could be that switch or the wire to it.

Well if the N lights up and you still have to pull the clutch you probably have a bad connection in the "N" light circuit someplace before the solenoid..  All these safety things are making the bikes too smart by half, IMO....  I would take all the safety stuff out and just have standard setup push the button and start, but I am crazy like that....

Weird! ??? I just thought about it.
I've been pulling in the clutch and firing up my bikes for years.
Then I let it out, been in gear more than once causing an embarrassing moment! ::)

Ernie -

I had the same problem on mine when I picked it up, brand new...  tech said, "Well, maybe it just works that way..."  He offered to troubleshoot it, it I had some time... I didn't.

I found a bullet connector toward the front of the fuel tank that connected to an "orphan" from the neutral light.  Part of the cutout to make sure you can't start it in gear.  Problem solved.

a-hah!  Probably a loose connection then- it comes and goes and I've been changing tanks back and forth a couple of times.  That probably agravated it.  Next time the tank comes off, I'll look around that area.
Thanks ~

Uncle E,
At the top of the gas tank, there is a hole with a cap. You can remove the cap and add fuel. That way you don't have to keep changing the tank.

I never know when you're kidding.  It doesn't say that in either of my manuals...
