Is there any harm in removing the rubber fork covers off an Electra or the G5. To me, it adds too much of a '70s look to a Royal Enfield.  Just wondering.

                                                                             Thanks
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it. You can't prove a thing!

Maybe just me, but I think they would look much MORE 70's without the gaiters?  Fork gaiters, as I recall where more common on mid-late 60's bikes, like my mates BSA A65, than 70's.  I could be wrong though.

My '69 BSA Thunderbolt had fork gaiters, I miss that bike.

i like the protection they give.. to remove them with no damage is to do the obvious.  otherwise a razor knife is the quickest :o

I bet you do, best looking bike BSA ever made. I had a '71 oif comical hub version, got it up to 100 once then had to ride the same route slowly to pick up all the bits.

Not to hijack the thread, leave the gaiters on. An Enfield won't look right with 70's exposed fork stantions.
