I have both, I never open the factory manual. The parts catalog is very valuable too.

I open both when I have to..  the RE is so mechanical though , I don't really need them.. except for torque specs or clearances

I have 'em both too.
I find that I have to translate a lot of Pete's English though...silly Brits.

I boight the paper factory manual and parts book and the Snidal CD. I like the CD because it was cheaper, and I can print out just the page I need.

Snidal's manual has been a big help, don't have the factory one.  But I think it is like Scotty says, if you are careful about the way you go about things, and observant, you can generally figure things out without a manual, using it when you get stuck or need backup.

All I have is the Electra Shop Manual.
I wanted the others too, but was tyring to save a dime.
